NON-PARAMETRIC TEST

Question 1: Is there a significant difference between the perceptions on the level of

academic stress when group according to the following:

1.1 age
1.2 sex
1.3 year level

Null Hypothesis:

Ho1: There is no significant difference between the perceptions on the level of academic
stress when group according to the following:

a. age
b. sex
c. year level

when grouped according to age.

(Kruskal Wallis Test)

Table 1.1 reveals the test of significant difference between the perceptions on level of
academic stress when grouped according to age. The statistics value is H(245)=12.774,
df=8, p=.120. Since the computed p value is more than the threshold (Level of
Significance) at .05 α, therefore, there is not enough evidence to reject the null. More so,
there is no significant difference between the perceptions of the respondents on the level
of academic stress when grouped according to age.

when grouped according to sex.

Table 1.2 indicates the test of significant difference between the perceptions on the level of
academic stress when grouped according to sex. The computed statistical value is
U(245)=4178, p=.567. Hence, the computed p value is more than the level of significance
at .05 (threshold), we failed to reject the null. That there is no significant difference
between the perceptions of the respondents on the level of academic stress when grouped
according to sex. This means that sex is not a factor that defines the perspective of the
students on the level of academic stress.

when grouped according to year level.

Table 1.3 reveals the test of significant difference between the perceptions on level of
academic stress when grouped according to year level. The statistics value is
H(245)=3.233, df=3, p=.357. Since the computed p value is more than the threshold (Level
of Significance) at .05 α, therefore, there is no enough evidence to reject the null. More so,
there is no significant difference between the perceptions of the respondents on the level
of academic stress when grouped according to age.
PARAMETRIC TEST

(We assume that all data have normal distribution and coming from a population)

Question 1: Is there a significant difference between the perceptions on the level of

academic stress when group according to the following:

1.4 age
1.5 sex
1.6 year level

Null Hypothesis:

Ho1: There is no significant difference between the perceptions on the level of academic
stress when group according to the following:

a. age
b. sex
c. year level

Table 1.1 reveals the test of significant difference between the perceptions on level of
academic stress when grouped according to age. The computed statistics value is equal to,
F (244) = 1.717, df =8, p=.095. Since the computed p value is more than the level of
significance or threshold at .05 α, there is not enough evidence to reject the null. That there
is no significant difference between the perceptions of the respondents on the level of
academic stress when grouped according to age.
