The increasing bilateral trade, which touched US$12.83 billion during 01 April 2017- 31
March 2018, proves that India-Vietnam trade partnership (also identified as one of the
strategic sectors) will meet the trust of our leaders in reaching the mark of US$15 billion
by 2020. The number of Indian business delegations to Vietnam, particularly Ho Chi Minh
City has been on the rise and so is the number of Indian visitors to Vietnam.
The visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc in January 2018, to partici-
pate in the ASEAN-India commemorative summit aptly themed ‘Shared Values, Common
destiny’ and as one of the chief guests at Republic day of India; was followed by the visit
of Vietnamese President Mr. Tran Dai Quang in March 2018. President Quang was accom-
panied by a large business delegation and was greeted by an equally welcoming combine
