•Spring corrosion is one of the most common
causes of failure

•Plugging and sticking can be prevented by


protecting the PRV with a rupture (bursting)
disc

•Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) is a


common occurrence on stainless steel PRVs
and rupture discs
