EXPERIMENT NO 1
OBJECT:
React to the motion of fly wheel and find the moment of inertia of a flywheel.
APPARATUS:
Fly wheel, Vernier caliper, stopwatch, thread, weights and meter rod.
FORMULA:

I = Moment of inertia (gm cm2)
M = Mass attached to the thread (gm)
g = Acceleration due to gravity (980 cm/sec2)
h = Height of mass (cm) r = Radius of axle (cm)
n1 = Number of rotations on the axle
n = Number of rotations completed by the wheel after the detachment or fall of mass and
before coming to rest
