QRH2 SUB-SECTIONS
This table gives the priorities when dealing with Emergency and Abnormal
situations.
- 1. Rapidly assess the situation to perform the adequate procedure.
- 2. For any RED light and Emergency procedure:
- Perform Phase 1 Memory items if any.
- Use QRH2 - EMERGENCY SIDE.
- 3. For any AMBER light:
- Use QRH2 - ABNORMAL SIDE.
- 4. For any FLAG on PFD:
- Use QRH2 - ABNORMAL SIDE - FLAGS ON PFD
- 5. For any other abnormal situation:
- Use QRH2 - ABNORMAL SIDE - per system.
Particular case for ENGINE flame out:
- If the engine integrity is not in doubt:
Use QRH2 - EMERGENCY SIDE - AIRSTART and apply the Restart
procedure.
- If the engine integrity is in doubt:
Use QRH2 - ABNORMAL SIDE - ENGINE and perform the Shut down
procedure.
Used with respect to matters not directly related to safety but which are
particularly unusual or particularly important.

PHASE 3
After touch-down:
Reverse thrust ........................................................................... Full power
Brake application: Use PARK BRAKE at intermediate detent only. Be
cautious and avoid cycling pressure on and off.
The hydraulic power off condition requires greater pilot forces and
landing requires increased caution, because directional control relies on
rudder.
Differential thrust may be helpful.
In the situation where high lift devices are already extended, observe the
following approach speeds (zero wind):
- Slats only...................................................................VREF + 20 kt
- Slats and flaps 7°.......................................................VREF + 20 kt

Do not apply IAS MISCOMPARE procedure (22).
LEVEL FLIGHT
Set N1 as indicated in the table below, corresponding to MI = 0.77 (assumed
temperature is ISA -10 °C):
The IGN annunciation in the EID may be due to an excessive angle of attack
and therefore a close-to-stall situation.
VMO / MMO audio warning may be unreliable. If it is certain that the VMO
/ MMO audio warning is inappropriate, do not modify flight parameters.
CLIMB
N1 ......................................... Climb power as per Performance Manual 3-15
Pitch attitude ....................................................... Between 3° and 4° nose up
If vertical speed drops down to 200 ft/mn:
Airplane ......................................................................................... Level off

engine and wing anti-ice above 39,700 ft (42,200 ft for A/C with M3453)
may cause N1 to decrease. It may be impossible to maintain flight level.
At or above these altitudes, it is recommended to avoid icing conditions
or to use anti-ice system at lower altitudes.
AT ............................................................................................. Disconnected
Power levers, one by one ............... Smoothly reduced to lowest suitable ITT
If unable to maintain altitude:
Fly a drift down descent.
Power levers ........................................................ Avoid rapid thrust changes

Monitor carefully the fuel transfer so as not to transfer fuel towards the
leaking tank.
Stop the fuel transfer if FUEL .. warning lights up on opposite side

The airplane can be brought to rest by simultaneous use of the thrust reverser
and the parking brake.
Apply brake pressure cautiously, pulling PARK BRAKE handle to
intermediate detent, and avoid alternate application - release actions.
Increase the landing distance by 50 %.
With MASTER and BRAKE ACCU lights on, residual pressure allows for one
brake application only.
RETRACTION MALFUNCTION
EXTENSION MALFUNCTION
ABNORMAL EXTENSION
Landing gear handle ............................................................ Down - Checked
GEAR PULL .......................................................................................... Pulled
If three green lights come on and the landing gear handle light goes
out:
The landing gear is down and locked.
Do not actuate landing gear controls.
If at least one green light does not come on and the landing gear
handle light remains blinking:
Perform a FREE FALL EXTENSION.
At any time, as soon as the three landing gears are locked down:
- Do not actuate landing gear controls,
- Keep the landing gear down. 36
If for some reason the gear configuration is still not “down and
locked” after completion of the FREE FALL EXTENSION procedure:
Braking performance is unknown, thus the computed landing distance is
unreliable.
Select an appropriate airfield maximizing the landing field length.
Reduce the landing weight (higher fuel consumption).
Fly a precautionary landing.
Be ready for an emergency evacuation.
Additional recommendations:
If nose gear is not locked down:
Touchdown on main wheels, like for normal landing.
Maintain back pressure on the yoke, keeping the airplane nose up as
long as possible. Then, while elevators remain effective, gently
release the back pressure, accompanying the nose down to the
ground. If possible avoid the runway centerline lights.
Do not brake before the nose gear is on the ground. Use differential
braking to maintain the runway centerline.
If one main gear is not locked down:
Touchdown on the half side of the runway corresponding to the
extended main gear.
Then maintain wings level as long as the ailerons remain effective.
And maintain the runway centerline with rudder and nose wheel
steering controls.
When the wing hits the runway, firmly brake to counteract veering.
AFTER THE AIRPLANE HAS COME TO REST:
Apply EMERGENCY EVACUATION procedure (see QRH2 - Emergency
side -1).
