I. TOWER CRANE SUPPORT

❖ Supporting concrete beams have small sections;
❖ Clear span is more than specified allowable; and/or
❖ High Elevation shoring supports are required.
4. Any other deviation from the Minimum Design Requirement shall be subjected to Design Check/Analysis by
CMSG Formwork.

II. DERRICK CRANE SUPPORT


A. PLATE
❖ Section Properties:
▪ 400 mm by 400 mm by 25 mm
▪ Yield Strength (Gr. 36), Fy = 248 MPa
❖ Notes:
▪ Plate is required at every base/leg of the Derrick Crane.

B. HOOP BARS
1. Bases/Legs must be fixed to the Slab/Beam using hoop/deformed bars.
❖ Section Properties:
▪ Bar Diameter, d = 28 mm
▪ Yield Strength (Gr. 60), Fy = 414 MPa
❖ Notes:
▪ Hoop Bars must be embedded at Beams.
❖ No. of Hoop Bars on each end of I-Beam = 5 pcs (Min)

2. Hoop Bars must be welded

▪ Tie-Down is required at every base/leg of the Derrick Crane.
▪ Tie-Down must be drilled through slabs up to next floor below Derrick Crane’s leg.
▪ Tie-Down must be fully tightened.

E. NOTES & REMINDERS
1. Preparation of the Derrick Crane and its Supports shall be in accordance to the Equipment Manual.
2. All materials should be in good condition.
3. Separate Design Calculation shall be made if:
❖ Base/s is/are seated on a slab;
❖ Supporting concrete beams have small sections (intermediate beam);
❖ High Elevation shoring supports are required.
4. Any other deviation from the Minimum Design Requirement shall be subjected to Design Check/Analysis by
CMSG Formwork.

 In such cases, the new design must subject to Checking/Analysis by COSG Formwork.
❖ The OSP layout should consist of independent frames assembled at every 5-meter bay as shown in
the figure

2. G.I. pipe runners of adjacent frames should be staggered with a clear distance of 5.0 mm – 10.0 mm

3. Concrete Pedestals of adjacent frames should have a clear spacing of 25.0 mm (Max)

E. NOTES & REMINDERS
