A. VOCABULARY WORDS

1. catastrophe - a sudden event that causes significant trouble, destruction, or suffering;

The earthquake that struck the city was a catastrophe, causing widespread destruction
and loss of life.
2. baobabs - are trees with thick trunks they are known for their long lifespan and can live
for many years; The African savannah is dotted with majestic baobabs, their massive
trunks standing tall against the horizon.
3. sprig - a small stem or shoot of a plant that has leaves or flowers on it. It can be used as a
garnish or decoration, or as a small division of grass for propagation; She added a sprig of
fresh mint to her cocktail to enhance its aroma and flavor.

B. QUOTATION

1. "You ought to make a beautiful drawing, so that the children where you live can see
exactly how all this is. That would be very useful to them if they were to travel some day."
I love this line because it highlights the value of artistic expression and its ability to
communicate and inspire others. t emphasizes the power of art to bridge gaps, foster
imagination and broaden perspectives.

C. SUMMARY

In Chapter 5 of "The Little Prince," the little prince and the pilot discuss the topic of
baobabs. The little prince asks whether sheep eat baobabs, and the pilot explains that
even a whole herd of elephants couldn't eat a single baobab. The little prince finds this
amusing and points out that baobabs start out small before growing into massive trees.

D. PARAPHRASE

"When you've finished your own toilet in the morning, then it is time to attend to the
toilet of your planet, just so, with the greatest care. You must see to it that you pull up
regularly all the baobabs, at the very first moment when they can be distinguished from
the rosebushes which they resemble so closely in their earliest youth. It is very tedious
work,"

(ito yung paraphrase) "After you've taken care of your personal needs in the morning, it's
important to give equal attention to the maintenance of your planet. This means
diligently removing any baobabs as soon as they can be distinguished from the
 rosebushes they closely resemble in their early stages. It may be a laborious task, but it's
necessary to prevent any potential problems."

E. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE/ REALIZATION

"there is no harm in putting off a piece of work until another day. But when it is a matter
of baobabs, that always means a catastrophe.

-For me, the importance of addressing problems and responsibilities promptly, especially
when they have the potential to escalate into significant issues. It emphasizes the
significance of taking timely action and being proactive in dealing with challenges to
prevent them from becoming overwhelming or unmanageable.
