Sl into the next dc, (the third dc from the shell below), ch 1 and turn.

Repeat rows 3 and 4, 13 times until the work decreases to one shell remaining
(ending on a row 4). Bind off, continue to finishing.

Finishing
Flip the work to RS facing.
For a clean smooth edge:
1. Ch 1 at the first dc of the shell on the right-most corner. Hdc in every stitch along
the edge until you reach the left-most edge of the work, putting your last hdc by
the last dc (of the shell on that side).
2. Ch 80. Turn, hdc in the second ch from the hook, and in every stitch back to the
body of the bandana.
3. Sl to attach the strap to the body, and then sc in every stitch across the bottom
of the piece. When you reach the other side sl up to the first hdc that you made
for the edge.
4. Ch 80. Turn, hdc in the second chain from the hook and in every stitch back to the
body. Bind off, weave in ends with yarn needle or hook.

Finishing Continued
For a picot bobble border:
1. Ch 1 at the first dc of the shell on the right-most corner. *Sc in the next three
stitches. Ch 3, then sl in the same stitch. Rep from * until the left-most edge of the
work, placing sc after the last bobble until you reach the last dc of the shell on that
side. Your last sc should go by the last dc of the shell on that side of the body (see
picture for reference!).
2. Ch 80. Turn, hdc in the second ch from the hook, and in every stitch back to the
body of the bandana.
3. Sl to attach the strap to the body, and then sc in every stitch across the bottom of
the piece. When you reach the other side sl up to the first sc that you made for the
edge.
4. Ch 80. Turn, hdc in the second chain from the hook and in every stitch back to the
body. Bind off, weave in ends with yarn needle or hook.

In the image on the left, you

can see I've finished the first
strap. The hdc strap row
will lay flat next to the space
where you haven't done
edging. In the bottom image
I've sl the strap to the body.

bobble

sc

In the image above, I've placed one sc after my last

bobble before I work the straps. Depending on how
you place your stitches along the edge, you might have
more sc or less at the end of your edging here.
