engage with the program and use critical thinking will be provided help only when needed. By finding
the answer themselves, children experience a sense of achievement and are more likely to retain the
knowledge. Encourage your children to complete activities multiple times as each time they do the
questions will be different.

• Adventure island is an AI-driven adventure that is personalised and tailored for each child.
• Assigned work contains any assigned activities from your competition organizer on
competition day.
• Training Zone is a perfect solution for extra mathematics support and practice that
supplements your child’s school curriculum.

Post Registration

Once registered, Organizer will send your Matific account to your registered email. Contestant is
encaurage to complete Matific's Placement Test before the competition.

What is a Placement Test?

It's a 20-min test to help determine your student's level and determine best set of learning path /
activities for them in the Adventure Island. All students will get a Placement test, (also known as the
Pilot Training) when they access Adventure Island for the first time.

Competition Day
Students

• Students can log in to their Matific account, go to

Assigned Work and start playing activities.
• During the competition period, students can log in and log
out as many times within 2 hours allocated.
• Each student has a target of maximum 150 stars to collect
until the end of the competition.
• There’s no limit to the number of times an activity can be
attempted, but only the attempt which gets maximum
star will be added to the competition total.

Things to note:
Students can continue to play even after they have collected maximum 150 stars, but the stars will
not be added to their competition total. Stars from maths activity completed outside of Assigned
Work will not be added to the competition total.

How is Rank Calculated

Rank is calculated based on target achievement (stars collected by contestants)

• If there’s a tie, we use accuracy to break the tie. i.e. how many activities were completed to
achieve the target.
• If after tie-break 2 students share the same score, then we look at the attempts needed for
the students to get their score
