07.06 Gas Booster Station

07.06.01 Scope of Work

The kiln shall be equipped with a Mixed gas/Coke oven gas firing
system. Scope of work shall include complete gas pipeline system
including boosters/compressors as per the process requirement. The
system shall consist of following items:

i) 2 nos. of working and 1 no. stand by gas boosters shall be provided to

cater individual kiln. Hence, a total of 12 boosters shall be considered
for 3 Nos. of 600 TPD Lime Kilns and 1 No. of 600 TPD Dolo lime
Kiln.
ii) The boosters shall be suitable for boosting both Mixed Gas and Coke
oven gas individually.

ii) Suitable capacity control system shall be provided to take care of any
fluctuation in gas demand to suit the process requirement.

iii) Each booster/compressor shall be preferably Rotary Twin lobe blower

or any other suitable type. It shall be of heavy duty type and flash
proof construction.

iv) Double floating ring type shaft seal shall be provided to prevent
air/gas leakage into/from the system.

v) Equipment shall be statically and dynamically balanced.

vi) System shall be reasonably noise and vibration free in operation.

vibration shall be within the limits throughout the regime of booster
operation as per the international standard.

vii) Bearing shall be of self-aligning, heavy duty type and selected with
angle safety factor for longer life.

viii) Piping system from battery limit for fuel gas, seal gas (Nitrogen)
cooling water etc. as required shall be provided including all isolation
value, non-return valve, drain, purging and vent connection, etc.

ix) Anchor bolts, nuts, foundation plates, inserts shall be supplied with
the equipment.

x) Commissioning spares, as required, shall be supplied.

xi) Interlocks shall be provided to suit the process requirements for safe
operation of the fuel gas supply system.

xii) All instruments and control shall be suitable for Mixed gas as well as
Coke Oven Gas services.

xiii) The operation of the entire fuel gas supply system shall be done from
the main control panel located in the control room of the lime plant.

xiv) 100% redundant Fuel Gas cleaning system comprising of Y -type

strainer and isolation valves shall be provided for smooth functioning
and long life of the booster.

xv) The boosting station shall be complete with outlet gas cooling and
booster by-pass system.

07.06.02 The design and selection of equipment shall take into account the
explosive and toxic nature gas to be handled, interchangeability of
parts and also ease of maintenance, inspection and repairs. If any
cleaning arrangement is required, it should be taken care by the
Bidder.

07.06.03 All instruments and controls required for easy and safe operation of
the system including indications and recording of flow, pressure and
temperature and also flow integration for Mixed gas/ Coke Oven Gas
shall be provided in the main control panel. A flame proof local control
panel shall also be provided.

07.06.04 Provision for isolated signals for process and flow parameters shall be
provided for transmission to control supervisory control system.
