Trust levels on information acquired from ChatGPT seems to depend heavily on the context.
Participants tend to not look into information received too much when it is in the context of day to
day activities like cooking, planning daily activities or generating ideas. However in the context of
academics, participants made sure to scrutinize information received thoroughly as it was not seen
as too reliable due to lack of sources. Participants also reported various instances of unreliable or
wrong information received from ChatGPT. Participants also mentioned that there was a lot of
variability in information received based on the prompts that were given to it. This caused answers to
come out as different at different times.
Preference:

The data provided reflects user preferences between ChatGPT and other tools, including
Google and Google Bard, now known as Gemini.

A significant number of users prefer other tools over ChatGPT for various reasons. Some
users leverage other AI tools that use ChatGPT for online searches and references. Others
turn to different platforms for gadget specifications, citing the limitations of the free version
of ChatGPT in providing up-to-date information. There’s a perception that expert reviews on
dedicated gadget websites offer more reliable specifications than ChatGPT. Some users also
consult other people about the subject matter. When the information provided by ChatGPT is
unsatisfactory, users resort to other sources. Google Bard is perceived as superior to ChatGPT
