Along with theoretical training, it is very important for me to get the practically
training so that I choose The Best Bite to learn different management system. During
my internship I have try my best to learn all that I have to be learnt in cafe.
I am proud of having this opportunity to complete my training in a very reputable and
prominent organization. In the period of six weeks I learnt almost all the management
system that are being offered by this branch. Although. The ‘Best Bite’ is running its
financial matters very well, but there is always a room for further development.

1.6.1 McDonalds:
McDonald's Corporation is an American multinational fast food chain, founded in
1940 as a restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in San Bernardino,
California, United States. They rechristened their business as a hamburger stand, and
later turned the company into a franchise, with the Golden Arches logo being
introduced in 1953 at a location in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1955, Ray Kroc, a
businessman, joined the company as a franchise agent and proceeded to purchase the
chain from the McDonald brothers.

McDonald's predominantly sells hamburgers, various types of chicken, chicken


sandwiches (chicken burgers), French fries, soft drinks, shakes, breakfast items, and

other localized fare. On a seasonal basis, McDonald's offers the McRib sandwich.

1.6.2 KFC:
KFC was one of the first fast-food chains to expand internationally, opening outlets in

1.6.3 Domino's:
In 1960, Tom Monaghan and his brother, James, took over the operation of
Dominick’s, an existing location of a small pizza restaurant chain that had been
owned by Dominick DeVarti, at 507 Cross Street in Ypsilanti, Michigan, near Eastern
Michigan University. The deal was secured by a $500 down payment, then the
brothers borrowed $900 to pay for the store. The brothers planned to split the work
hours evenly, but James did not want to quit his job as a full-time postman to keep up
with the demands of the new business. Within eight months, James traded his half of
the business to Tom for the Volkswagen Beetle they used for pizza deliveries.
By 1965, Tom Monaghan had purchased two additional pizzerias; he now had a total
of three locations in the same county. Monaghan wanted the stores to share the same
branding, but the original owner forbade him from using the Dominick’s name. One
day, an employee, Jim Kennedy, returned from a pizza delivery and suggested the
name "Domino's". Monaghan immediately loved the idea and officially renamed the
business Domino's Pizza, Inc. in 1965.

The company logo originally had three dots, representing the three stores in 1965.
Monaghan planned to add a new dot with the addition of every new store, but this
idea quickly faded, as Domino's experienced rapid growth. Domino's Pizza opened its

In 1965, Fred DeLuca borrowed $1,000 from friend Peter Buck to start "Pete's Drive-
In: Super they formed Doctor's Associates Inc. to oversee operations of the restaurants
as the franchise expanded. The holding company derives its name from DeLuca's goal
to earn enough from the business to pay tuition for medical school, as well as Buck's
having a doctorate in physics. In 1968, the sandwich shop was renamed "Subway". In
1974, a franchise operation began with a restaurant in Wallingford, Connecticut. The
first Subway on the West Coast was opened in Fresno, California, in 1978.

The first Subway outside of North America opened in Bahrain in December 1984.
The first Subway in the United Kingdom was opened in Brighton in 1996. In 2004
Subway began opening stores in Walmart supercenters, and surpassed the number of

1.6.5 Pizza hut:
Pizza Hut was launched on May 31, 1958, by two brothers, Dan and Frank Carney,
both Wichita State students, as a single location in Wichita, Kansas. Six months later
they opened a second outlet, and within a year they were operating six locations.

One early employee was future Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach Bill Parcells,
who had worked for the company while a college student and football player at
Wichita State University. Parcells was considering a franchise for a career (as well as

1.6.6 Hardee's:
Hardee's was purchased by Canadian company Imasco Limited in 1981. In 1982,
General Foods sold Burger Chef to Imasco for $44 million. Imasco converted many
locations to Hardee's restaurants and let franchises and locations near existing
Hardee's locations convert to other brands. Remaining restaurants that did not convert
to Hardee's or new names and branding simply closed.

For a few years after acquiring the Roy Rogers Restaurants fast food chain in the
early 1990s, Hardee's outlets sold fried chicken prepared using the popular Roy
Rogers Restaurant recipe hoping it could compete with KFC. In addition to Roy

In April 1997, CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Carl's Jr.,

Burger King was founded in 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida, as Insta-Burger King by
Keith J. Kramer and his wife's uncle, Matthew Burns. Their first stores were centered
around a piece of equipment known as the Insta-Broiler, which was very effective at
cooking burgers. It proved so successful that, as they grew through franchising, they
required all of their franchises to carry the device.
While the Jacksonville chain kept expanding, two friends named James McLamore
and David R. Edgerton, both alumni of the Cornell University School of Hotel
Administration were seeking an opportunity to open their own business. McLamore
had visited the original hamburger stand belonging to Dick and Mac McDonald in
San Bernardino, California, and sensing potential in their innovative assembly line-
based production system, decided to open a similar operation.
McLamore and Edgerton acquired a license to operate an Insta-Burger King franchise
and opened their first location on 4 December 1954 at 3090 NW 36th Street in Miami.
By 1959, the pair had stores at several locations within the Miami-Dade area, and
operations were growing at a fast rate. However, the partners discovered that the
insta-broiler units' heating elements were prone to degradation from the drippings of

square hamburgers referred to as "sliders". The burgers were initially priced at five

Walter (Walt) A. Anderson (1880–1963), a cook, had been running food stands in
Wichita since 1916, when he opened his first diner in a converted streetcar. After a

Edgar Waldo "Billy" A. Ingram (1880–1966), an insurance and real-estate man, and
together they started the White Castle chain.

1.6.10 Nandos:
The restaurant was founded in 1987 in Rosettenville, Johannesburg by Portuguese-
born Fernando Duarte and South African-born Robert Brozin. Upon visiting a
Portuguese-Mozambican takeaway named Chicken land and trying the chicken with
peri peri, they bought the restaurant for about 80,000 rand (equivalent to about
£25,000 at the time). They renamed the restaurant Nando's after Fernando's firstborn
