The most crucial aspect of waste management begins in our own or our own
homes. As a teacher, I will serve as an example to the community on how to use
the 3R's guideline of reduce, reuse, and recycle. The protection of the
environment and the population's health are the most significant reasons for
waste collection.

AIR POLLUTION
Breathing fresh, pure air has become nearly impossible due to the
increased quantity of air contaminants. Everyone is concerned about their health
as a result of the causes of air pollution. Because toxins in the air are invisible to
the human eye, we are unaware of the sources of rising pollution levels. To
comprehend the sources of air pollution, we must first comprehend the
fundamental reasons of air pollution.
These can give a greater damage in our environment and also to our
health. With the rate at which the country's air pollution is increasing, immediate
action has become a must. It’s not only affects people's lives, but it also has an
adverse effect on the environment.
Humans and other living organisms, as you may know, rely on the
atmosphere to breathe. When pollution lowers air quality, it has both immediate
and long-term impacts. Pollution has been linked to allergies, sickness, crop
damage, and even mortality in extreme circumstances.
Furthermore, air pollution disrupts the natural gas equilibrium that makes
up our planet's atmosphere. These imbalances contribute to the gradual loss of
the ozone layer, a vital part of the stratosphere that absorbs the majority of the
sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.
WATER POLLUTION
Human activity, largely the burning of fossil fuels that pump carbon dioxide
(CO2), methane, and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, is causing
global warming, which is the progressive heating of the Earth's surface, oceans,
and atmosphere.
According to the 2017 world risk report, the Philippines is the third most
vulnerable country to climate change and/or global warming. Global warming
and/or climate change has a wide range of consequences in the Philippines,
including annual GDP losses, changes in rainfall patterns and distribution,
droughts, challenges to biodiversity and food security, sea level rise, public
health hazards, and endangering vulnerable groups like women and indigenous
people.
As global warming continues to linger in our planet Earth, humans can do
something about it. Education is the key source of understanding what is
happening around us. An individual can educate himself about the causes,
effects and preventions of global warming and climate change. This is one of the
most important character a person living and loving our Mother Nature must
have. If one can do that, how much more if we can share our knowledge and
thoughts about the importance of having an awareness about the true state of
the only place were living in.
Since today’s generation is considered tech-savvy and advanced when it
comes to online socialization and reference, a proposal of making an educational
application about global warming and its causes, effects and preventions can
somehow make an impact in addressing the outcome of this global crisis. One
can freely download the application into their mobile phones, tablets and laptops
and enjoy the features of reading articles, news, and join the games related to
this global phenomenon, online and offline. This is just a small tool that will bring
big changes into our living planet.
5. Cite at least two (2) common environmental problems and propose possible
solution.
b. Loss of Biodiversity
Biodiversity contributes to the ecosystem's equilibrium and offers
biological resources that are essential to our survival. Humans are wreaking
havoc on the planet's biodiversity in a variety of ways, including habitat loss,
climate change, pollution, secondary extinction, and introduced species. Loss
of biodiversity can be countered in a number of ways:
a. The government should develop and enforce tighter rules and
legislation relating to biodiversity conservation.
b. Stop habitat destruction and encourage its restoration
c. Exercise sustainable living
d. Decrease invasive species
e. Research pioneering ways to preserve biodiversity and educate the
populace about it.
Environmental conservation requires two important steps: awareness
and adaptation. Each of us can and should do our part to mitigate the
consequences of these environmental concerns and guarantee a healthy
world for future generations. What we need to do is start altering our habits,
recalibrating our thinking, and rerouting our steps, since our micro-efforts will
have a macro-effect when we work together as a global community to help
rescue our home, our planet.
