SCHOOLS DIVISION OF LEYTE
Leyte I district
I. Brief Introduction
The implementation of the Capacity-Building workshop for
teachers on the integration of teaching strategies from the “Teaching
English to Young Learners (K-3)” District-Based Teacher Training
Workshop for English Language Educators serves as a vital component in
realizing the objectives outlined in DepEd Memo No. 001, s. 2024.
Launched on January 12, 'Catch-Up Fridays' stands as a pivotal learning
mechanism meticulously designed to fortify foundational, social, and
other relevant skills imperative for the attainment of the fundamental
education curriculum's objectives.
IV. Recommendations
The conduct of the LAC session was generally successful, the teachers were
generally engaged in activities that were game-based and collaborative. There were
challenges that needs addressing and here are some recommendations worth
considering:
1. To reduce the rigidity of the LAC session, it is recommended that the future
LAC sessions be conducted at a regular interval (example: 1 day interval
between zones)
2. Preliminaries must be reduced to focus time for the main purpose of the
day's activity
3. It is highly recommended that future trainings be conducted in small groups
and in classroom setup for optimal engagement from the participants.
