PROSPECTUS AND APPLICATION

Juror: Bede Clark's work is exhibited and sold in national juried shows and many ceramics books. He has conducted over 200 workshops throughout the United States and Canada. He has also authored several articles in Ceramics Monthly. Eligibility: Artists must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the United States by date of entry or March 16 2012, whichever occurs earlier. Entries: Entry fee is $30 USD for up to three works per artist. Art work must have been completed within the last two years, prior to entry date. Work must reflect the theme of the show. That theme is Teabowls. Submitted work must not exceed 9" in any direction. Each individual work may not exceed $500 USD in value. Total value may not exceed $1500 USD. Make checks payable to KC Clay Guild. Submit entry form with your image CD by the postmark date, to arrive within 10 days. No late entries will be accepted. All submitted materials will become the property of the KC Clay Guild. Digital Images only: Only one image per work will be accepted. Submit images in JPEG format. Do not send RAW, TIFF or PSD files. Do not send files of other items with the required images. One image per work, do not group work together. Images should be 300 dpi and not more than 1920 pixels at the largest dimension. Image files must follow the following format: [first name][last name][image number].[JPG]. As an example, if your name is John Doe, your files would be johndoe1.jpg, johndoe2.jpg and johndoe3.jpg Shipping: If your work is accepted, accepted work must be received by the KC Clay Guild by the listed dates. The cost of shipping and insurance to and from the KC Clay Guild will be covered by the accepted artist. The KC Clay Guild will insure all work while in possession and at the show venue. Installation: Accepted artwork must be ready for installation. If there are installation instructions, please include them with the work. KCCG reserves the right to reject any artwork due to inadequate preparation for installation or for security or public safety concerns. Work that differs from the images submitted will not be accepted. After installation, no artwork may be removed from the exhibition until the close of the show. Sales: All pieces must be for sale. The KC Clay Guild will retain a 40% commission on any sold artwork. The artist will receive 60% of the sale price. Shipping: Artwork that does not sell will be shipped back to the artist only if shipping labels or a check for $18 USD have been provided. Make checks out to KC Clay Guild. ALL ARTWORK LEFT LONGER THAN 60 DAYS, POST-SHOW, WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF KC CLAY GUILDNO EXCEPTIONS. Post Exhibit Sales: There will be no post show sales this year. Prizes: There will be at least $1000.00 in prize money awarded. In addition, there will be purchase awards. Right to Reproduce: The KC Clay Guild reserves the right to photograph or use digital images provided by the artist in publicity materials.
