Distinguish vocabulary to express feelings - Points at different parts of his/her body and says the corresponding words. Ss are not allowed to take notes. Some students play the role of models. The others receive piles of post-it notes with the words of the different parts of the body. The task consists of sticking the post-it notes on the bodies of their models in the appropriate places - Write the vocabulary words in their notebooks - Read the text amazing facts about the human body and complete a chart things I already know (before reading the text), interesting things I learned from the text, things I want to check (with a teacher, book, parent, etc.) - Match the words in the boxes with the different parts of the body Express feelings - Have students brainstorm as many different feelings as they can and list them on the board. (sad, happy lonely, angry, good, afraid, bored, great, nervous, frustrated, in love and shy) - Do mimic or draw on the board some faces depending of the feeling - Cut and paste on their notebooks some faces expressing different feelings - Make affirmative or negative sentences under the faces according to the feeling - Read some sentences - Answered some questions with their own information... Answered orally how they feel today, teacher write the answerers on the board and Ss on their notebooks. Make a draw according with the sentences

SUGGESTIONS TO APPROACH CONTENTS Obtain information about health - Look some flashcards pasted on the board and teacher write the ailment in the corresponding picture (backache, fever, sore throat, stomachache, toothache, burn, cough, sore muscles, earache, have a cold) - Repeat and write vocabulary on their notebooks - Choose a vocabularys ailment and pass in front of the classroom and act out the ailment for the rest of the class to guess - Exemplify how to make health problems based on teachers explanation - Copy on their notebooks the text written on the board and complete it with the correct ailment based on the flashcards pasted on it Expressing opinions about people health - By pairs Ss write on their notebooks health at school and under it draw a column headed with a check () and another with a cross (X). Teacher brainstorm with the Ss the kinds of health problems which are okay to bring to school (under the column with the check) and those that merits staying at home (under the column with the cross). - Group each pair with another pair and have them share their workAre there any differences? Do they agree with the other plan? - Write some sentences to express opinions about health problems at school - Pay attentions and write in their notebooks the rules for using second conditional - Make some sentences to give advice on their notebooks using conditional - Read the sentences made last stage and classmates write in their notebooks if their like or dont like the advice and. Why? Giving advice or make suggestions about what to do in case of illness - Answer orally some questions How are you today? How do you feel? Whats wrong? Whats the matter? - Look at the flashcard pasted on the board and focus their attention on the symptoms each person is showing. Ss read the doctor suggestions (in speech bubble written on the board) and try to match each speech bubble with its corresponding picture. - Copy the exercise on their notebooks - Chose a health problem, one Ss sit in front to the class and have to tell the rest of their classmates how does he/she feels and the illness. Ss fill a medic prescription (patients file: last name, first name, symptoms and prescription). - Socialize the results - Look some phrases between a doctor and a patient written on the board, teacher explains that conversation is in wrong order and shows how it begins. Ss use their logic to write the conversation in order. - By pairs make their own doctor-patient conversation, then role play it - In pairs make a poster about schools accidents or illness and some suggestions (if principal allows Ss would paste the posters around the school)

Teacher write the words on the board and write the heading linking word (because, or, and) - Complete some sentences about recommendations using linking words - Write the next questions how often do you get hiccups, how long do your hiccups last?, what do you do when you get hiccups? - Listen the reader grandmas journal and try to find the same suggestion they made in last exercise - Answer the next questions on their notebookshow many sensible remedies does she suggests? How many silly remedies does she suggest? - Look 3 illness flashcards pasted on the board and write suggestions on their notebooks about what do in each of these situations Accepting or reject help in case of illness - Look some pictures drawn on the board and try to match the remedies with the problem health

Imagine that have the health problems looks last class and make sentences using different types of expressions to accept or reject the advices Complete the form-pattern to accept or reject suggestions Look at the poster drawn on the board about help stop the flu and complete a chart what is the name of the campaign? Does it have a slogan? What problem does the camping address? Write three important pieces of advice, what is your opinion about this campaign? - Look three mini dialogues written on the board about ailments and remedies and set each one in order - Write on their notebooks two problems and interchange notebooks with a classmate who make suggestions for the health problem - Make a chart and fill the problem with the corresponding remedy - Look at the expressions on the boxes and complete each of the conversations and them role-play each one with a partner to check their answers TIME: 9 sessions.
