Pray through Gods Story (Week 2)

Focus on God
God is our possessor. But Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted my hand to the Lord, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, that I would not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich. (Genesis 14:22, 23) God is our protector. After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great. (Genesis 15:1) God is our provider. And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called the name of that place, The Lord will provide; as it is said to this day, On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided. (Genesis 22:13-14)

Respond from the Heart

God is judge and his judgments are always right. Then Abraham drew near and said, Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city. Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just? (Genesis 18:23-25)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray for unreached people groups to receive the spiritual blessings of Abraham. [God to Abram]: I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. (Genesis 12:2, 3)

Present Your Requests

Pray for the humanly impossible. And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived. (Genesis 25:21) Pray for success according to God's ways. And he [Abraham's servant] said, O LORD, God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today and show steadfast love to my master Abraham. (Genesis 24:12)

Close in Celebration
Thank God for the spiritual blessings we received through Abraham's offspring - Jesus Christ. And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven and said, By myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:15-18) Thank God for personal successes or victories. And he [Melchizedek] blessed him [Abram] and said, Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand! (Genesis 14:19, 20)
