Shahan et al. (2023) conducted a study involving men’s field hockey varsity student-
athletes in Lahore, Pakistan, which revealed a significant association between field
hockey sport experience and emotional intelligence among these athletes.
Romanova et al. (2023) studied the relationship between the level of physical activity
and academic performance among university students, demonstrating that student-
athletes, characterized by high motor activity, achieved higher academic progress
compared to students with low weekly physical activity levels.
Mohamed et al. (2023) investigated the link between physical activity and academic
achievement among student-athletes in a public secondary school in Kedah, revealing
a positive association between physical activity and cognitive function, shedding light
on the potential cognitive benefits of sports participation.

athlete regarding their academic performance?
Topic
The Effects of Involvement on Athletics to Student Performance of Grade 12 Senior
High School Students of Philippine women's college is a great contribution to the
vast knowledge of Grade 12 Senior High School student-athletes. the study will be
beneficial to them in a manner that they will be educated and made aware of the
implications of being a student-athlete. They will also be able to assess how their
involvement in sports is affecting their academic performance. This study will be
useful for students, athletic and non-athletic alike, as it will evoke their awareness
regarding the complexity and hardships of student- athletes lives in the academe.
Research gap
The existing studies do not dig deep enough or cover all the important reasons, like
time management, money problems, or how well a student is doing in their classes.
Lack of recent, detailed research about student-athlete struggles in academics in
Davao city.
Lack of thorough study that measures how student-athlete stuggles affect students
on their academic performance in Philippine women's College.

quantitative methods to systematically collect and
analyze data, aiming to provide a detailed description
of the struggles faced by student-athletes in
prioritizing academics over sports.

sample
The respondents in this study shall be quantified among the
Respondents population of student-athletes from grade 11- 12 students in Philippine
women's college. To narrow the scope of the study, the researcher
chose to focus only on the participants who really are student-athletes
and are developmentally capable of participating in the study.
Stratified random methods will be utilized in this study. A method

subgroups known as strata.

SURVEY QUESTIONAIRE
The main aim of this questionnaire is to gather data to measure
student-athletes struggles in their academic performance. This
research will use researchable questions and is more open to
respondents' perceptions. Through these questions, the researchers
can show meaningful responses within the study's scope.
Data gathering
procedure
First, the researchers will create the research questionnaires, which will then be
validated by the validators.
Second, the researchers will write a letter requesting permission to conduct the study
at the Philippines Women's College of Davao. The study's purpose, research
instruments, and administration and retrieval dates of the research instrument will be
explained.
Third, after sending an email to the Senior High School Principal's office and
receiving the principal's permission to conduct the study, the researchers will
send the letter to the teacher and communicate with each section's president
for permission purposes.
Data gathering
procedure
the respondents will be given questionnaires via Google forms. Before administering
the questionnaires, the purpose of the study and the instructions for answering will
be explained to the respondents. Then, the information gathered will be
interpreted and analyzed.
