Dear Texoma Artist: The 2011 Denison Arts & Wine Renaissance received a tremendous response with an outstanding display of talents from area artists like you. We continue to have large crowds at the DAWR and it is our wish that the event once again will reflect and showcase the variety of work and talents of Texoma artists. We have a few changes to the format of this year's event. DAWR 2012 will span 3 days this year. Here is what to expect for 2012:

Thursday Evening: Downtown Experience (FREE ADMISSION)

Downtown open late from 6-9 pm to celebrate the opening of the art exhibition and shopping... free wine & food tastings in shops up & down Main Street... roaming classical guitarists...conclude the night with a showing of "The French Connection" movie at the newly renovated Rialto Theater. - Friday Evening: An Educated Evening Dinner (TICKETED) Enjoy an exclusive wine and food pairing with wine education at Vinita, the restored home of TV Munson and the Vinita Heritage Center. Food and wine pairings created by GCC Culinary and Viticulture programs - raising funds for downtown improvements... $75 per guest. Join the Rialto Theater in the heart of downtown for a concert. Performers TBA.... Open to the general public. Tickets range from $15 to $25 per guest. -Saturday: Demonstrations Downtown Enjoy the day downtown with special demonstrations in cooking, wine education, and art. Shop, take a tour of Vinita and enjoy all that Denison has to offer. Many free events, but a nominal charge for some special demonstrations. Denison Arts & Wine Renaissance Gala Tasting Event at the Palazzo held from 7-10 pm Saturday evening. Enjoy sampling Texas wines and gourmet food from local eateries. Dance demonstrations, art installation, and silent auction fundraiser. $30 per guest. All checks made out to DDI or Downtown Denison, Inc. Please accept this letter as your invitation to participate in any and all DAWR events this year. There are three specific areas (described below) in which artists are invited to participate: 1. The DAWR Art Exhibit (held in downtown Denison ART spaces) 2. The DAWR Silent Auction (held at The Palazzo event center) 3. The DAWR Renaissance Poster & Wine Label Competition * *This year, our committee will select 1 winner for #3 above to be the featured artwork for next year's (2013) event. We believe choosing the artwork a year ahead allows us to have stronger pre-event publicity materials utilizing the artwork, and allows additional exposure for our winner.

Artist Eligibility for Exhibit: All artists 21 or older receiving this letter, art majors attending area colleges and universities, artists who have been showing in professional area art shows and galleries, or who are recommended by gallery and studio proprietors are eligible to submit up to two (2) works of art for the Denison Arts & Wine Renaissance exhibition to be held Thursday, April 26 through Saturday April 28 in downtown Denison. All works will be displayed in local art venues along Main Street including galleries and studios. No work will be juried and the DAWR art committee will disperse artworks collected for the show to participating display spaces. All work must be original (no photo-reproductions or work based on another artists work); appropriate for the event (nudes are acceptable but should be suitable and not objectionable to the general public); and current. All 2-D submissions must be ready to hang. Any small works or jewelry must be securely mounted for display. DAWR requests a 15% commission on works sold (10% going to the DAWR event and 5% going to the display space) for sales contracted during the event. Artwork will be accepted at 416 West Gallery (416 W. Main Street) on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24 from 1-5 pm each day. Artworks will be picked up after the exhibition on Tuesday, May 1 and Wednesday, May 2 from 1-5 pm at the downtown display spaces. You will be notified by phone or e-mail as to which space your artwork should be picked up from. The following information is required: Name of Artist: Title of Work: Medium: Price: Artist's Telephone # & E-mail Artists Affiliation: (examples: Independent Artist, Images Gallery, Studio 406, 2nd Floor Gallery, etc.). This will give the viewer an idea where they can see more of your art and will advertise your gallery if you are affiliated with one. Artworks will be on display free of charge to all viewers Thursday - Saturday April 26-28 in display spaces along Main Street. Tickets are required for other DAWR events. Artwork for Silent Auction. The Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance is accepting artwork for a silent auction to raise funds to improve downtown Denison along Main Street. In the past these funds have been used to install a public restroom, put benches along Main Street, and beautify downtown. An artist (21 or older) donating a work or works of art with a value of $50 or more for the silent auction will receive one (1) non-transferable general admission ticket to the Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance Gala on Saturday evening, April 28. The following information for Silent Auction artwork is required. Main Street) on Monday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 17 from 1-5 pm each day. Renaissance Poster & Wine Label Competition and Award Eligibility and Details: All artworks must meet criteria set forth above for the Fine Art Exhibit and reflect the Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance event. The Renaissance Award winner will be selected by the Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance committee, DDI Board, and Main Street Advisory Board members. Originals may be physically requested for final selection. The winning selection will reflect the character of the event. It will be reproduced for use on the event signature wine label and promotional posters. In the past, the final decision has been based on the ability of the piece to be visually distinctive when reproduced to the size of a wine label. The winner of the Renaissance Award will be featured on the following: Advertising & Publicity of the 2013 Arts and Wine Renaissance Auctioned at the event via silent auction with the reserve bid price being determined by the artist. 20% of the final bid will go to the Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance. If only the minimum reserve bid is met, Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance will receive 10%. Should

the minimum reserve bid not be met, the artwork will be returned to the artist. Sale of reproductions of the Denison Arts and Wine Renaissance Award Artwork; Posters will be professionally printed through the DAWR committee. The artist will receive (at no cost) 10% of the posters printed, and is granted permission to sell the posters after the event with the exclusion of any signed posters. The artist cannot sign any of their posters for sale to the general public. The artist will need to be present at the event to sign posters during the evening. The artist will be presented a case of the Event Signature wine. They will also receive a complimentary sommelier (sponsor level) pass. ($100 value)
