RULES AND REGULATIONS: All Rules and Repertoire Requirements MUST be followed, no exception allowed. Failure to comply with any of these rules below will be considered disqualification from the competition. 1. All works must be performed from memory. The use of sheet music or music books is not allowed in all stages of the competition. 2. The proposed program may not be changed after the registration deadline, 1 May, 2012 (postmarked) at 15:00. NO EXCEPTIONS. 3. The past first prize winners of UPH National Competitions (2004, 2006, 2008 or 2010) are not eligible to enter the 5th UPH National Competition. 4. The competition is not open to the current music students enrolled at UPH. 5. The competitor must clearly indicate his/her private piano teacher(s) for the past 5 years of the competition date if any of these teachers is a part of the board of juries, the competitor will not receive grading from him/her/them. Any member of the juries may self-elect himself/herself away from grading a specific participant(s) if he or she feels the personal or professional connection may interfere with the judging. 6. Kinder division (9 years or younger) is opened to any pianist, who has not reached his or her 10th Birthday as of 16 June, 2012. 7. Junior division (Ages 10-13) is opened to any pianist, who has passed his or her 10th birthday but has not reached his or her 14th birthday as of 16 June, 2012. 8. Senior division (Ages 14-19) is opened to any pianist, who has passed his or her 14th birthday but has not reached his or her 20th birthday as of 16 June, 2012. 9. All applications with their supporting materials (including a copy of ID to verify the age of the applicant) must be sent to the Competition office, postmarked no later than Tuesday, 1 May, 2012. 10. Late applications may be considered until 15 May, 2012, if the space/time is available for the Preliminary round. There will be an administrative penalty (late fee) of Rp. 350,000. 11. Any photographing or video recording (including the mobile camera and video features) is strictly prohibited. The equipment will be confiscated and the owner of the camera will be asked to erase all the recorded materials.

12. UPH has the exclusive rights to reproduce any parts or of the whole presentation of the competition in any format for publication purpose. UPH will create CD and DVD recordings of the 5th UPH National Competition and they will be available for sale. 13. All stages of the 5th UPH National Competition are open to public. The public is kindly reminded to silence any equipment that produces sounds, including mobile, beeper and digital watch. 14. All judicial decisions made by the panel of judges in any stage of the 5th UPH National Competition are FINAL they will be made with utmost professionalism and integrity. Detailed criteria for judging performances as well as competition procedures will be announced to all participants and audience in the opening ceremony. 15. During the duration of the competition, participants and their family members as well as their teachers must not approach any member of the jury to discuss any part of the competition procedures, comments, scoring, or anything that is directly related to the 5th UPH National Competition. 16.
