LIST OF EVENTS (Guidelines, Rules and Mechanics)

CALL OF DUTY Tournament

RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR LAGUNA UNIVERSITY CODM BATTLE ROYALE.


1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of LAGUNA UNIVERSITY.
Regardless of the program enrolled.
2. Each team shall have four (4) members. Replacement of a member will not be
allowed after the end of the registration period.
3. Battle Royale TPP Mode will be used in all games.
4. All participants should always observe professionalism and sportsmanship, thus
trash talking, cursing and any form of cheating is strictly prohibited.
5. There will be only twenty-five (25) slots for the group stage of the tournament.
6. Please be on time for your registration and for the actual tournament. Teams (or
Players) will be disqualified if they do not show up.
7. In-game names must match the gamer ids submitted in the registration,
otherwise you will be disqualified.

9. Once done with the online registration, you will receive an invitation to join a
private Messenger group for communication purposes.
10. Registration starts on Feb 1 – 15 2021 (Every day until 5:00 PM)

REGISTRATION FEE: Php 100 per team.


Prizes:
1st: Php 1000
2nd: Php 500
3rd: Php 250
Round 1: All teams will undergo a qualification round (Battle Royale - TPP). Only the
TOP 10 teams will be qualified to go the final round.
Round 2 (FINAL ROUND): The 10 Teams will battle in a Battle Royale mode - TPP, and
the TOP 1 will be announced as the winner.

MOBILE LEGENDS Tournament

RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR LAGUNA UNIVERSITY MOBILE LEGENDS


TOURNAMENT.

1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of LAGUNA UNIVERSITY.


Regardless of the program enrolled.
2. Each team shall have five (5) members. Replacement of a member will not be
allowed after the end of the registration period.
3. Each department will only have 1 team of five (5) members to participate.
4. The Registration Fee per team is Two Hundred and Fifty (P250)

5. Custom - Draft Pick Mode will be used in all games.


6. All participants should always observe professionalism and sportsmanship, thus
trash talking, cursing and any form of cheating is strictly prohibited.
7. Any violation of Guideline No. 6 will result to the following sanctions:
A. Trash Talking (First Offense) Warning
B. Trash Talking (Second Offense) Match Forfeiture
C. Cheating (First Offense) Disqualification

8. There will be only 13 (13) slots for the group stage of the tournament.
9. The tournament will be held on the following dates:
A. Registration starts on Feb 1 – 15 2021 (Every day until 5:00 PM)
B. Qualifiers/Elimination - February 19, 2021 (8:00 A.M)
C. Semi-Finals – February 19, 2021 (1:00 P.M.)
D. Finals – February 19, 2021

10. For the group stages/Elimination, the thirteen teams will be divided into five
groups of matches. While the remaining 3 teams will wait for the result of first
elimination match. Each group shall play a best of 2 round robin to determine the top
team for the group. Only the top one team shall advance to the playoffs.
11. In case of a tie, the following rule shall be observed:
For a two-way tie, a best of one match shall be played.
12. Please be on time for your registration and for the actual tournament. Teams (or
Players) will be disqualified if they do not show up.
13. In-game names must match the gamer ids submitted in the registration,
otherwise you will be disqualified.
14. The Grand Finals will be streamed live on the official FB of LAGUNA
UNIVERSITY.

DANCE COMPETITION

General Guidelines

A. All participating performers must be a bona fide student of Laguna University.

B. All entries should have a minimum of five (5) and maximum of ten (10) members under

the same college/department.

C. Only one entry per college is allowed.

D. Registration form for the college’s official entry shall be accomplished thru google forms

by the respective teacher coach/head (link: https://forms.gle/S9V3JDVMK1hC6EV37)

E. Deadline of submission of registration will be on February 8, 2021 and deadline of

submission of final dance recording (in .mp4 format) is on February 15, 2021 thru email

(santosjeffrey122@gmail.com).

Mechanics:

A. Duration of the performance must be 2 - 4 minutes including the given choreography

(first 54 seconds of the whole routine).

B. The official music for all entries will be provided by the committee (Katy Pery –

Birthday).

C. Choreography must follow minimum health protocols (Physical distancing, wearing of

face mask/face shield, and the like)

D. The camera position must be fixed with no zooming and panning effects. Performance

must be shot in ‘a single take’ with no edit or effects of any kind.

E. Coach, teacher or choreographer are not allowed to participate.


F. Decent costume must be observed accordingly. Removing of piece clothes during the

performance is allowed provided it is not offensive or out of the character.

G. Dangerous stunts are prohibited during the performance. Routine must consist primarily

of hip-hop technique. May include street dance, free style, funk and break dancing. No

acrobatic tricks allowed.

H. Each entry will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on the following criteria (See the

table below).

I. Decision of the Board of Judges is Final and irrevocable.

LU Singing Idol

LU Singing Idol is a university-wide singing competition for students. It aims to provide a


platform for the aspiring and talented LU singers to showcase their singing prowess.

Join the auditions, and begin your journey in becoming the first LU Singing Idol!

Audition guidelines:
 This contest is open to all bona fide senior high school and college students of
Laguna University.
 Each contestant must fill-out the pre-registration form:

 Prepare a 3 to 5-minute video recording of your audition piece with the following
specifications:
o The audition video must be accompanied with a minus one or instrumental
track; however, the music should not overpower the voice of the
contestant.
o There should be no vulgar, profane, discriminatory or inappropriate words
in the song.
o The audition video must be recorded in portrait mode and half-body shot.
o Each participant should be dressed appropriately in the video.
o Use of any professional or downloadable app voice filters and enhancers
is prohibited.
o The video must have clear visual and sound qualities.
 Submit your videos to LU Singing Idol Facebook Page. Indicate your complete
name, age, course, college, year level, and the title of your song in the body of
your message.
 The deadline for submission of entries is on February 7, 2021 (Sunday).

Contest proper:
 Contestants will undergo a series of elimination rounds.
 For the preliminary round, contestants will be shortlisted based on their
performance in their audition piece. Ten contestants will advance to the live
semi-final round on February 16, 2021 (Tuesday).
 From the ten semi-finalists, five contestants will be selected to compete in the
final round.
 Top three winners will be announced on February 19, 2021 (Friday).

TAGLINE MAKING CONTEST


I. CONTEST MECHANICS
1. The contest is open to all LU Students (Senior High School and College Students).
2. Contestants must submit entries in Google Form link:

3. Each contestant may submit only one (1) entry.
4. The “Tagline” entry must be:
 Original and made by the ‘person who submitted it.
 Maximum of 4 words.
 Must be relevant to the LU Mission and Vision, LU 15th Foundation Day.
5. Contest Period is from Feb 1. To Feb 10, 2021.
6. Deadline of submission is on Feb 10, 2021, 11:59 pm.

II. CRITERIA OF JUDGING

III. ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS
1. Judging of entries will be on February 15, 2021, 1:00pm at the LU Rm. 20 by LU 15th
Foundation Day Committees.
2. Winner will be announced via online streaming on Facebook page (February 19, 2021,
4pm.)
3. Winner will be notified via e-mail or contract number provided.
SPOKEN WORD POETRY COMPETITION MECHANICS

1. Eligible to join the contest are Senior High School and College students of
Laguna University. Each College and the Senior High School Department will
send a representative.
2. The competition will have two (2) categories: Filipino and English with one (1)
participant for each category.
3. Names of the participants must be submitted to the contest organizer (c/o Sir
Jerome Aligui of BAC/CAS) on or before February 8, 2021.
4. Contestants are encouraged to draw inspiration from the situation of students
during pandemic, having Laguna University as the foundation of hope and
knowledge in achieving one’s dream. The contest theme is Mag-aaral sa
Laguna University sa Gitna ng Pandemya (Laguna University Students in
the Midst of Pandemic).
5. The entry to be submitted at least two (2) days before the competition should be
an original work of the student. If the participant is proven to have committed
plagiarism in any way, even if unintentional, he/she will be disqualified or, if the
unethical act was discovered after the contest, then the award and certificate will
be revoked.
6. The final round will be held on February 19, 2021, 8:00 in the morning, at LU
03.
7. Contestants must come to the venue prepared with appropriate attire for the
competition.
8. The delivery of the piece is 3-5 minutes only for each category.
9. The following are the criteria for judging:
Organization (clarity of thought, structure, coherence) - 25%
Delivery and Style (unique storytelling, performance) - 25%
Language (suitable descriptive language, word play) - 25%
Content (depth of concept, relevance of theme) - 25%
Total - 100 %
10. There will be one winner for each category and each winner will receive a medal
and a certificate. The two placers for each category will automatically receive a
certificate.
11. Winners will be officially awarded during the awarding ceremony in the afternoon.

BLOODLETTING (Bloodiest Department)

Mechanics and Guidelines

1. LU employees will be grouped according to their respective department. The


department who will get the highest number of successful blood donation will
automatically declared as winner.
2. Announcement of winner will be awarded on the last day of the celebration
CRAZY MATH QUIZ BEE

General Guidelines

A. All participants must be a bona fide student of Laguna University.

B. The college must have at most 3(three) participants.

C. Registration form for the college’s participant/s shall be accomplished thru google forms

by the respective teacher coach/head (link: https://forms.gle/WjGHVE5genVbkAgv7 )

D. Deadline of submission of registration will be on February 8, 2021.

Mechanics:

A. All participants should have stable internet connection during the event.

B. All participants must have 1/8 illustration board and chalk with them during the event.

C. The questions are mainly logical, hence, no choices will be provided.

 For easy round, each participant will answer 10 logic questions (1 correct answer

is equal to 5 points; 10 seconds per question).

 For average round, each participant will answer 5 logic questions (1 correct

answer is equal to 10 points; 20 seconds per question).

 For difficult round, each participant will answer 5 logic questions (1 correct

answer is equal to 15 points. If there is no answer, 5 points will be deducted. But

if the answer is wrong, 7 points will be deducted; 30 seconds per question).

 And if there is a tie, there will be an occurrence of the clincher round.


D. You may only start answering when the statement is read twice and a go signal is given.

Violators will be disqualified.

E. The participant who accumulated the highest number of points will be declared as the

winner.

SEARCH FOR “LAGUNA UNIVERSITY MODEL STUDENTS”

CANDIDATE SELECTION
 Each college and the senior high school department will be represented by one
male and one female candidate.
 All candidates must be at least 18 years old, and allowed by their parents to join
the competition.
 Each candidate must have good academic standing (no failing grades) and of
good moral character (no record of minor and major offenses).
 With their parents’ consent, candidates must be willing to report in the university
for photo and video shoot.

OVER-ALL GUIDELINES:

 The program “Search for LU Model Students 2021” will be in compliance to the
IATF protocol.
 The candidates will be judged based on the following categories: short video
introduction, casual wear, sportswear, formal attire, talent, and question and
answer portion.
 The top 3 (male and female) contestants should be physically present at Laguna
University on the pageant day.
 Casual wear, sportswear, formal attire, and talent competition are all video
recorded.
 Only the question and answer portion will be recorded in Laguna University.

PAGEANT REQUIREMENTS
 Short video introduction
o Candidates shall be given a 60-second self-introduction. They should also
indicate why they chose to study at Laguna University.
 Casual wear
o Candidates shall be given a 60-second to showcase their casual wear
(white shirts and denim pants).
 Sportswear
o Each candidate shall be given a 30-second video to showcase their
chosen sports attire. Wearing revealing outfits is discouraged.
 Formal attire
o Each candidate shall be given a 30-second to showcase their formal wear.
o The background music for this video shall be provided by the organizers.
 Talent portion
o The entire duration of the performance should not exceed two minutes.
o Pyrotechnics and other dangerous stunts are prohibited.
 Question and answer
During pre-pageants
o Questions shall be asked by the chosen judge.
Top 3 (Finalist)
o Scores will be reset to zero (0).
o Only one question shall be asked among the contestants.
o Each of them will be given 60 seconds to answer.
 People’s Choice Award
o One male and one female candidate shall be bestowed with the People’s
Choice Award.
o This award will be given to the candidates who garnered the highest
number of likes/reactions on the short video introduction.
