Roland Piano Festival – 2015

Prelims – Entirely Online:

Qualifying criteria –

The Contestant must be born on or after 1, January 1985. Contestent should be and Indian citizen
residing in India.

Contestants would be required to upload their performances on youtube and send submit the
youtube link on Roland Piano Festival App on Roland India facebook page.

Facebook users would be asked to vote for their favourite candidate.

From the online prelim rounds we would select 15 candidates for each East, West, North and South
zone.

Grand Finale - Zonal Rounds -

Zonal rounds would be the Grand Finale of this competition. This event would be held in all four
zones East, West, North and South.

15 candidates from each zones would be required to come to the venue. An event would be held
and all the contestants would be asked to perform.

10 Minute performance (including breaks)

Maximum Pieces – 5

Of these 15 candidates we would select 1 winner for each zone.

Teachers if present in the event would be given a certificate of appreciation for preparing the
candidate for the competition.

Terms and Conditions
1. Entries would be invited for two regions at a time starting with North and South regions.
2. Last date for submitting your entry for North and South region is 31/08/2015
3. Voting for North and South entries / videos would start from 1/09/2015 till 30/09/2015.
4. The Contestant must be born on or after 1, January 1985.
5. The Contestant can prepare for any piece prescribed for or equivalent to ABRSM or Trinity
exam for Grade 3 to Grade 6.
6. A Contestant can only send one video. The first entry sent by the Contestant would be final.
All the subsequent entries by the same Contestant would not be considered.
7. All videos must be uploaded on youtube.com. The video must be Titled “Roland Piano
Festival - 2015” followed by (Contestant Name). E.g “Roland Piano Festival – 2015 – Rahul
Sharma".
8. Entry is FREE.
9. Contestants may use any standard edition of the music.
10. In the beginning of the video the contestant must introduce himself/herself.
11. Judging criteria –Facebook Voting (on Roland India Page only) and Judges Views.
12. Judging Parameters – Technical Ability, Musical Maturity, Stylistic Awareness and Individual
Artistry.
13. Performing from the score will be permitted however Contestants would be required to
arrange for their own page turners.
14. The Contestant may perform on any piano or keyboard in the Preliminary round. However
Roland Digital Pianos would be used in the Final Zonal rounds.
15. The fans can only vote once for any one contestant.
16. This contest is valid for Indian nationals residing in India only.
17. Repeats except the Da Capo should be omitted in the preliminary round.
18. Prize Roland Digital Piano RP-301 (For each Zone).
19. Face of Contestant and keyboard of the piano should be clearly visible in the video frame.
20. Judges decision would be final.
