DL celebrates Black History Month

Every year group learnt about black icons famous for struggling to bring tolerance and harmony to their communities. The Builders learnt about Nelson Mandela in South Africa who was imprisoned because of his colour, but went on to become the countrys first black president in 1994. The Scientists studied Rosa Parks, a lady who was imprisoned in America in 1955 for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white person despite this being the law at that time. David Livingstone Academy is based in a diverse community and it is it important that we show tolerance, respect and co-operation within our school. By the Newspaper Club
