Lesson No: 01
Theme #1 - Numbers and Operations
Relative integers.
3.1. Representation of relative integers;
3.2. Comparison of relative integers;
The set of relative integers is represented by the symbolℤ.
Relative integers are those numbers that on a number line
they are situated to the left and right of zero. They are numbers that cannot be written with
commas.
The numbers located to the left of zero are called negative numbers and have the
negative (-). And the numbers situated to the right of zero are called numbers
positives and may or may not show the plus sign (+).
ℤ = {...; -4: -3; -2; -1; 0; 1; 2; 3; 4;...}
-4 -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 4
3.2. Comparison of relative integers
Between two negative numbers, the greater one is the one with the smaller absolute value.
That is to say, the greater is what is closest to zero (0).
Ex1compare the following negative integer numbers:
-1 is greater than -3;-15 < -10
Between two positive numbers, the greater one will be the one that has a greater value.
absolute value
Ex2compare the following positive integers:
+2 is less than +5 +15 is greater than +13
Zero is greater than all negative numbers.
Ex3make the respective comparisons:
a) 0 > -4 - 55 < 0-10 < 0.
Operations inℤ
To perform operations inℤ We must know how to play the signals.
Multiplication of signs
(+) × (+) = (+) (-) × (+) = (-) (+) × (-) = (-) (-) × (-)=(+)
The sum of two positive numbers is always positive;
For example: add the following positive integers:
(+4) + (+5) = (+9) (+10) + (+20) = (+30)
In the addition of two negative numbers, their absolute values are summed and the sign is kept.
the negative sign.
Ex:add the following negative integers:
(-4) + (-3) = (-7) c) (-8) + (-2) = (-10)
When adding two numbers with different signs, subtract their values.
the absolute values are taken and the result is given the sign of the greater absolute value.
Calculate the following numbers:
a) (-6) + (+5) = (-1) b) (+10) + (-16) = (-10) ( -24) + ( +34) = (+10)
Numerical Symmetry
Numbers that have the same absolute values and signs are called symmetric numbers.
different. And in the addition of two symmetrical numbers, the result is equal to zero.
resolver
a) + 9 - 9 = 0 -14 + 14 = 0
Absolute Value or Modulus of a Number.
The absolute value of a number is the distance from that number to zero.
origin on the line. The absolute value of a number x represents - if by∣x∣.
Ex: |+3| = 3 (read: absolute value of plus 3 or modulus of +3 and it equals 3)
|-15| = 15 (read - as: absolute value of minus 15 or modulus of -15 and it equals 15)
Exercises
1st Compare the following relative integers
a) 0 -6 -50 -10000 +200 +748
2nd Solve the following numerical expressions of relative integers
a) (+20) + (-30) = b) (-45) + (-10) =
c) (-56) + (+56) = d) (+18) + (+12) =
Task
1. Define relative integers?
R/: relative integers are those numbers that on a number line are located -
to the left and to the right. Those on the left are - and those on the right are +.
2. Draw a real line containing relative integers
-3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3

Type of Class: Introduction to the study of integers and calculations with numbers
relative integers.
In this class, students will be able to have:
Knowledge: when defining integers, when identifying and recognizing
numerical information related to positive and negative numbers;
Skills: when representing integers on the number line for the
understanding the largest and smallest number;
Formative Projection: will have the ability to identify minimal situations of
daily life involving integers, and more of that
It will be your preparation for entering the Secondary Education subsystem.
Objectives of the Lesson Plan
The objectives of this lesson were developed based on the following grading:
Article 20 of the Framework Law on the Education System:
Specific objective of the 1st cycle of secondary education: to allow the acquisition of
necessary knowledge for the continuation of studies at educational levels and
subsequent areas.
Mathematics program for the 1st cycle of secondary education.
General objectives: the ability to reason and analyze; mental capabilities.
generals.
Objectives of Mathematics in the 7th grade: to know and apply integers
and its operations.
Contents
Skill system: students will be able to represent, do, and calculate;
Knowledge system: will be able to define and compare;
System norms and values: students will understand rules, laws.
Teaching methods
Joint elaboration: this method was used because there will be interaction with
the students share ideas at the moment of motivation and when trying to discover
what they bring for the introduction of the new class.
Expository: it was used because it is essential to present the content,
explain and summarize the class.
Interrogative: it was used to awaken the students' attention and evaluate the
lesson objectives, through questions and answers;
Independent work: the use of this method was made because the students
they need to solve exercises, at the time of assessment and when
homework
Demonstrative: it was chosen because it is necessary to show to the students
through the frame the symbol of the set of integers and the line
whole.
Means and resources of teaching:
The board, eraser, and chalk were used because they are the main means and instrument.
of teaching (respectively) used in the classroom;
Ruler, pencil, and mechanical pencil are materials used by the teacher and students to
writing, drawing, and solving exercises;
7th grade math manual for content consultation.
Evaluation or control:
Diagnosis: this assessment was used to find out if the students have any idea
about the concepts of the material to be conveyed and also to identify the
students' problem.
Formative: I used it to awaken the students' interest and see if they are understanding.
the content, without deserving any classification. Just to qualify.
Summative: I used it to assign grades to students for some questions.
