    St Patrick’s Day Celebrations


    Could all children wear something green tomorrow to celebrate St. Patrick’s day.

    Seachtain na Gaeilge Guthán/Facs: 021-


    We had a great start to the week with our annual Seachtain na Gaeilge Céilí. All classes enjoyed a workshop with

    Deirdre O’Sullivan, Irish Dancing Teacher, followed by a chance to practice to the fine music provided by Mick
    Looney and Sam O’Brien. We would like to thank each and every pupil for their enthusiastic participation in the céilí

    and of course we are very grateful to Mick and Sam for coming into the school to play their wonderful music again
    this year. We will conclude Seachtain na Gaeilge next Thursday. Bain trail as an ngaeilge!

    Thank so much to Rita O’Regan for her generous donation of €350 to the school, proceeds of the weekly card drive.
    The money will be used to fund the Irish Dancing Classes delivered in the school over the past few weeks.

    Credit Union Quiz County Final


    The 5th & 6th class team had an amazing run at the Credit Union Quiz. Well done to Rebecca Murphy, Hannah O’Shea,
    Con O’Mahony and Tom O’Callaghan for all of their hard work and also to Mrs. O’Shaughnessy who did so much
    work to prepare everyone. The team came 3rd overall, with 61 points, narrowly defeated by the top two teams who
    got 65 and 63 points respectively.

    Feis Maitiu
    1st to 6th classes have all taken part in Feis Maitiu for the first time this year. We are so proud of how they prepared
    and performed! A notable highlight was 5th and 6th class coming first in their section yesterday.

    Swimming
    Please note that there will be Swimming on Thursday 22nd of March.

    Chess
    The Chess Team will go to the county finals next Tuesday 20th of March, in Gaelscoil Ui Driscoil, Dunkettle. Please
    ensure that team members wear their tracksuits and remit €5 for the bus.

    Green Schools/Water Flag


    The Green School Committee had a water inspection from Birgit O’Driscoll last week. We got some very positive
    comments and we are doing really well at saving water. Birgit also remarked that we had lots of great water saving
    ideas. We will be having our Action Water Day next week. Hopefully we will receive out Water Flag as part of our
    Green Schools Programme in May.

    Soccer
    A team from 5th and 6th class boys are representing the school at the SPAR FAI soccer tournament today in Blarney.
    The girls will play on Wednesday 21st of March. A mini bus will be organised for this so could team members please
    remit €5.

    School Closures
    Please note that the school will be closed on Monday 19th of March as its a Bank Holiday and also the school

    will close at 12noon on Friday 23rd of March for the Easter holidays.

    Note from the Parents’ Association


    The Parents’ Association Quiz which was postponed due to the weather has been rescheduled to Friday 20th of April
    in the Strand.
