Dear Parents and Guardians,
Concern Debating Challenge
The 5th and 6th class Debating Team are going on a well deserved fun day today at the Radisson Hotel in Little Island
as a treat for all of their hard work on the debates throughout the year.
5th & 6th class Junior Conferring
5th & 6th class had a great visit to UCC on Monday, they enjoyed .
Muintir na Tire School Garden Competition

The judges came to see our school garden on Monday. 3rd & 4th class pupils did a great job answering the various
questions and were very enthusiastic. We are looking forward to hearing the outcome. Thanks to Catherine, our
Secretary, for all the hard work in coordinating this year.
Standardised testing

School reports will be issued in the coming weeks, as standardised testing from 1st to 6th is now complete.
Child Safeguarding Training
The school will close at 12.30pm on 7th June to facilitate Child Safeguarding Training.
Cork City Sports
Wishing all of our runners the very best of luck for Cork City Sports tomorrow. The participants have received an
information note. The girls will be running first this year. Please note that the girls who are participating in Cork City
Sports will be marked present on the roll, however siblings will have to come to school at some point to be marked
“in” as they are not required/representing the school. All boys who are running should come to school tomorrow
morning.
Sciath na Scol
We will play our last Sciath match v Aghabullogue at 12.30pm on Wednesday 6th of June, the bus will leave at
11.45am. Could players please remit €5 for the bus plus the permission slip.
Cross country running in Firmount
Firmount NS have invited us to participate in their cross country running tournament next Thursday 7th of June. We
will be sending 26 representatives from all of the classes. More information about this to follow next week.
School Tour
Just a reminder that everyone will be going on the annual School Tour on Friday next the 8th of June.
All pupils should wear school tracksuit, devices (phones, I Pods, cameras, tablets) are not permitted. Any
communication regarding possible late arrival etc will be done through the school e-mail & parents WhatsApp. 3rd –
6th class tour may bring €5 maximum for the Planet but this is not a requirement. All children to bring packed lunch
but they will also get hot food. (Treats allowed!)
Headlice
We continue to have reports of head lice in the school, please be vigilant and treat as soon as you spot anything.
