Dear Parents and Guardians, 9th March 2017

First Confession
All 2nd class pupils will make their First Confession tonight at 7.30pm in Matehy Church. Please
be at the church by 7.15pm at the latest. Please give your children their Baptisimal Candles
to bring to the church if you have not already done so. Children should wear their full school
uniform and also bring their small candle and Thumb.
Non-contact Rugby
Willie Schubert, from Munster Rugby, will be here tomorrow for non-contact rugby training.
Children from 3rd to 6th class will be involved in the training. Children should have gear (shorts,
socks, tops, boots/runners) as the training will be in the field.

School Book Fair

Thank you all who came to the School Book Fair there was a great turnout and we will be able
to get loads of new books for our school Library as a result. More to follow.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We had a fantastic session at our annual Seachtain na Gaeilge Cil yesterday. Thanks to Mick
Looney and Sam OBrien again for playing the music. Well done to all of the pupils who
performed by playing music, dancing and singing and also to the pupils who participated and
enjoyed the activities so much. We also hope you are speaking the bit of Gaeilge at home as
we are making a big effort in school! Seafhocail trth na gceist, amhrin, filocht, comrtas
ealane agus ruda marsin!
St. Patricks Day Parade
Just a reminder that we will be having a St. Patricks Day parade here on Wednesday 15 th of
March. If you can please use recycled/reused materials for the childrens costumes where
possible. Also we will be closed for St. Patricks Day on the 17 th of March.
Active Schools
We hope children are still keeping busy with their active homework. We are close to getting
our flag, keep the photos coming.
Sciath Na Scol Camogie Final
Our 3rd & 4th Class Camogie Final will take place on 16 th of March in Na Piarsiagh the match
starts at 11am. If you are able to drive please contact the school.

Bingo Night at An Sibin Parents Association

The Parents Association have organised a school fundraising Bingo Night on Friday 10 th of
March. They would love to see as many parents as possible for what promises to be a great
night of fun.
