experimenting on engineering and robotics projects. Subjects will cater for students from Junior infants right up to
6th class. Please remit €5 per child if you have not already done so. Thank you!

Head Lice
vicarstownns@eircom.net
We have had some notifications about Head Lice again in the school. This problem must be solved once and for all
and will require a whole school approach. It has been decided to ask all parents to treat their children’s hair this
coming weekend. We would ask everyone to do a second treatment in 7 days time as advised on head lice products.
Children with long hair are reminded that hair should be tied up as per school policy. Thank you for your co-
operation.

Cork City Sports

Please remit tickets stubs and money to the school office for the Cork City Sports Raffle by tomorrow at the latest
please.

Hurling Training
We are delighted to be welcoming back Mr. Timmy Murphy again for a new season of hurling/camogie. Hurling will
be back next week and every second Thursday there after.

Aladdin Connect
It is hoped that all parents will be using Aladdin Connect by the end of the term. If you have any problems with your
own account or need an additional account for your partner, please contact the office. It is hoped that Aladdin
Connect will be used to share photos and news from each class within that class group. This will mean the photos
are in a closed, secure group that is not available to those outside the school community. We will be updating our
Acceptable Usage Policy next week so a revised permission slip will be issued to all families. Also, please note that
the school calendar is on Aladdin connect and updated regularly with relevant info, eg confirmation dates, school
tour.

World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day today where children from Juniors to 6th brought in their favourite book to show
their classmates. We had book readings using our visualiser at our Junior and Senior school assemblies. Children
from 1st-6th have received their new library cards and we are starting a new ‘Brilliant Book Shelf’ in each class with
specially selected books for each class grouping. We are keeping our book vouchers for our school book fair which
will be on 7th of May.

Religious Ceremonies
The 2nd Class, First Confession will take place next Wednesday, 13th of March in Berrings church..
Knitting
The chicks for Easter are coming along very well, Ms Mooney helped some of the children cast them off this week.
Could the children bring in anything they have to knit for next Tuesday please so that we can organise a display of
their work. Keep up the good work in school and at home.
Ukuleles
We have 30 Ukuleles winging their way to us by post at present. This, along with tin whistle instruction, will form
our term 3 music approach. Music was selected as area to focus following our Vicarstown Vision Survey.

Active Schools
We have a hurling challenge match v Aghabullogue here in the school tomorrow, 1:30-2:30. Could the Sciath team
