refresh our mind properly from time to time and have some new experiences. Culture can differ very much nowadays because of the appearance of modern technologies. Traditional culture can contain books, theatres, operas, and different kinds of art; meanwhile there are some new forms of entertainment such as cinemas where they play films, TVs and all kinds of digital media. Cultural festivals are very popular nowadays because they offer a wide range of entertainment to people of all ages. They are well-advertised, as the host town or village can benefit a lot from such an event. Modern festivals last for several days, during which people can have a rest, see the sights of the region, get an insight into the local customs, gastronomy, and trade, and in the evenings, they can have a thrilling experience of high culture. Our town has a similar festival called the Csángó festival and it is held every year in August. This time of the year people visit Jászberény from all around the Carpathian Basin. Although I am not a keen fan of the Csángó I think it is great for a community to have such a big and flourishing event sometimes. As I mentioned before today people can go to the cinema or watch TV at home instead of going to a theatre for example. The number of theatre goers is decreasing nowadays because people of the 21st century are extremely visual, and films offer more elaborated vision and incredible action meanwhile a theatre stage has its limits because of its simplicity. Moreover, it is more convenient and probably cheaper as well to stay at home and watch something on Netflix rather than dress up properly go to see a play. I don’t really like this tendency because I like traditional theatres very much and I always enjoy visiting them when I have the opportunity. This doesn’t mean of course that I don’t like films at all. I like horrors, science-fictions, comedies, documentaries, and classical pieces as well. Some people say that film stars are overrated. I disagree with this statement. I believe they are rather overpaid than overrated, and some of them are very talented and they work really hard in order to be on the top and achieve their goals. I also really like good exhibitions. I think exhibitions helps us understand the human natura and the complicated processes of the world. When we visited The Natural History Museum in London back in June, there was an exhibition about earth and the problems that affect the earth. It was called Our broken planet: How we got here and ways to fix it. It was very interesting and very alarming at the same time. I really was scared about the situation of our planet and this exhibition made me realise things about how we should change the way we live our lives, or otherwise we will simply go extinct, and we take everything with ourselves as well. So, it was really illuminating for me. I believe we should preserve our culture and knowledge that we gathered for hundreds of thousands of years, so the next generation could learn from us and learn from our mistakes as well.
