IMPACTS OF LABOUR SHORTAGE:


Stoppage of machineries in working hours

leading to loss of production. Frequent stop and start of machineries resulting in poor performance. More concentration in getting the labour by technical personnel which reduces their concentration in solving the technical problems.

To some extent affects the work discipline

of labour serious actions are not taken for preventing the labour leaving the job. Leads to some quality related problems. Minimal use of production capacity.

Remedies:
Improving the working environment by

providing free accomodation, food at low cost, children welfare schemes, entertainments. Implementing more material handling equipments to avoid lifting/transporting heavy objects.

Organizing training programs periodically

to improve the labours knowledge. Organizing grievances redresses cell to know their problems and making arrangements to solve them. Increasing wages and allowances.

Automation:
Chute feed system incase of lap feed

systems.
Normally blowroom have 2 persons in blowroom and 1 person for 8 cards will be allocated. But in case of chute feed only one for blow room and 1 person for 16 cards are involved

Auto doffer for speed frame and ring frame

Only 8 persons per 25000 spindles for 40s count where

there is a reduction of 6 persons/shift.

Automatic package tranport systems.
