What are reality shows?


Reality shows is a television programming that presents purportedly unscripted melodramatic or "humorous" situations, documents actual events, and usually features ordinary people instead of professional actors, sometimes in a contest or other situation where a prize is awarded.

History of reality shows


Reality television began in 1940s with Alan Funt's TV series Candid Camera.
The genre exploded as a phenomenon around 19992000 with the success of such television series as Big Brother and survivor. Programs in the reality television genre are commonly called reality shows and often are produced in a television series. Documentaries, television news and sports television are usually not

classified as reality shows.[

But do you think that playing kabaddi, fighting etc. is part of a village girl's life ?

There are several Reasons that reality television has become popular today. The main focus is on the concept of making money, The second reason is of instant fame.

The show like sa re ga ma pa and voice of India provides a huge platform for the singer. The show like Kaun Banega Crorepati improve the general knowledge of the people.

Reality shows are interactive i.e. any lay man can participate in the programme & viewers also get the chance that they can actively participate in the show, by giving there votes to there favorite contestants .

but there are also some disadvantages that non deserving person get more votes than deserving person due to some other reasons.
