Authority vested in males, male control of a society or a group

Matriarchy
Authority vested in female, female control of a society or a group.

Democratic
Authority vested in both males and females. other member of family can share their opinions in family matter.

A family consisting of husband, wife and children.

Extended family (joint family)


A nuclear family plus other relatives, such as grand parents, uncles and ants, who live together.

A type of family in which husband and wife both live in the home of husband's parents.

Matrilocal
A type of family in which husband and wife both live in the home of wife's parents.

A type of family in which husband and wife both live together separate from their parents.

GROUP

DEFINITION
When two or more persons are in a state of interaction and have common interest is called group.

Essentials of group
There should be at least two persons There must be interaction among individuals Common interest among themselves There must be a social structure which regulates the activities of the group under normal conditions There is must be independence among members.

Types of group
In group
The individuals living in such groups develop feelings of oneness and know each other by name, by face by occupation

Out group
It is a group whose members are considered to be in opposition to an IN GROUPP

primary group
A group characterized by close relationship, unity, face to face interaction, direct cooperation and intimacy among the members.

Secondary group
The relationship of an individuals are less personal, there is a low degree of intimacy, contacts are causal and are not based upon permanent bases.

Formal group
A formal group refers to structure and activities that are rationally organized. There are specific and standardized rules, goals and offices. These group are more in urban areas and less in rural societies.

Informal group
An informal group does not consist of a formal structure, specific goals. Standardized rules and formal leadership.

Anti social group


A group characterized deviation of social activities. They want to fulfill their personal interest by wasting and damaging the national and social resources

Pressure group
Group in which the individuals of similar politico economic interest try to influence the government policies and actions.
