Adjectives tell us about nouns – people, animals, places and things.
There are three degrees of comparison: positive, comparative and superlative.
The positive degree is used when no comparison is made.
原级不做任何比较。
The comparative degree is used to compare two unequal people or things.
比较级比较两个不相等的人或物。
The superlative degree is used to compare three or more unequal people or things.
最高级比较三个或以上不相等的人或物。
COMPARISON OF ADJECTIVES 形容词的比较
The comparative and superlative forms of an adjective with a single syllable
are formed by adding
er and est respectively. Many of the adjectives with double syllables form
their comparatives and
superlatives in the same way.
