BILATERAL KINSHIP SYEMTEM

• BILATERAL KINSHIP SYESTEM - Means that an individual reckons


his relationship to both the father and mother. Filipinos are
characterized of having this kind of system. Every Filipinos is
related to a number of individuals and this could explain why
Filipinos are too kin-oriented or have close family lies.
• UNILINEAL KINSHIP SYESTEM – Is a kinship group organized
through identification with only one line relationship either
through the male or the female. It is through the male then
the line is known as patrilineal.
• PATRILINEAL – This means that all the children of the father belong
to his group. As long as there are male children to carry on the
line, the line of the group is perpetuated.
• MATRILINEAL- The life of this system is also perpetuated as long as
there female children to continue the lineage.

PARALLEL COUSIN AND CROSS COUSIN

• PARELLEL COUSINS- refers to mother’s sister’s or father’s brother’s


child. A cousin who is the child of your mother’s and brother’s
child.
• CROSS COUSIN – A counsins who related to somebody through a
brother and sister being either a father’s sister’s or mother’s
brother’
