Es un municipio de Colombia, situado en el sur del país, en el
departamento del Putumayo. • Zona rural tiene 3.091 habitantes, es decir el 23.3% de la población rural de todo el municipio. • la población de la zona vive en 380 viviendas. LOCALIZACIÓN ÁREA DE ESTUDIO COBERTURA DE SERVICIOS PÚBLICOS
Como el resto del municipio de Villa garzón los habitantes de la
subregión carecen en su mayoría de los servicios públicos básicos. los servicios como energía eléctrica, agua potable, alcantarillado son mínimos, al punto que en el mejor de los casos una vereda puede llegar a tener dos servicios pero con baja cobertura. SERVICIO DE ÉNERGIA ELÉCTRICA
El suministro de energía eléctrica cubre únicamente a 5 veredas ( el
35.7% del área de influencia). Las veredas beneficiadas con este servicio son: La Cafelina, Canangucho, Champagñat, La Paz y el Porvenir. HIDROGRAFIA El sector donde se encuentra la cabecera Municipal pertenece a la cuenca del río Putumayo, el cual cursa al hacia el sur, más directamente sobre la subcuenca del río Mocoa. El río Mocoa que baña la parte Norte del área de la subregión, con un patrón de drenaje dendrítico o desordenado.
