2. GRID CEILING SYSTEM
• The Grid ceiling system is a lightweight lay-in system available in concealed
or exposed grid options. The ceiling has substantial sound reduction and
absorption qualities. Gyproc offers 2x2 and 2x4 sizes and in various
patterns. Depending on the requirements of design and space, the tiles
offer a wide range of decorative effects. Pre-finish options include smooth,
textured, patterned, or perforated effects. The kinds of grid ceiling tiles
include Gypsum, Mineral Fibre and Metal

Advantages:
Offers a range of design and texture options

1. Gypsum Ceiling Panels
• This ceiling panel has round semi-perforations in a random pattern and is economical,
durable and dimensionally stable.
• Some pre-painted ceiling panels are coated with a special paint that is washable and has
anti-mould growth and anti-yellowing properties.
• Some ceiling panel is laminated with a PVC film on the face side and is available in a
granular texture.
• Some ceiling panel is laminated with a PVC film on the face side and a metallised
polyester film on the back, with all four edges sealed with PVC film, thus giving it
superior maintenance-free finish. This range is available in two designs: Plain White and
Crack.
• Some ceiling panel has full square holes in a regular pattern and is backed with a special
non-woven lining. It has an insulation mat and excellent sound absorption properties.

• With 100% access to the plenum, these panels create an attractive open ceiling in
interior spaces. With variable spacing, height and shape options, they are suitable
for hospitals, retail spaces, transit galleries and offices.
3. GLASS WOOL TILES FALSE CEILING SYSTEM
• Ecophon is a leading, global supplier of sound-absorbent ceilings and wall
absorber systems. The Ecophon range of soft felt (glass wool) tiles gives
excellent acoustic performance for ceilings and wall panels. These acoustic
ceiling tiles offer a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) rating ranging from
0.90 to 1.00 (i.e., 90 to 100% sound absorption), ideal if you like things
quiet. Ecophon solutions are available in a variety of edge designs for
concealed fixing, or visible grid for direct fixing. They are designed to
improve the appearance of the edge design, and meet requirements of
detachability, and provide easy access to installations in the space
between the false ceiling and the soffit. The different kinds of Ecophon
ceiling tiles include Focus DS, Advantage, Gedina, Sombra, Hygiene, Free
Hanging, Master and Combison

Advantages:
Superior acoustics
Easy to clean
Good aesthetics
4. GYPTONE CEILINGS
• Gyptone acoustic ceilings contribute to aesthetics, good acoustics and
good indoor climates. They are a combination of design and technical
performance. Gyptone ceiling range gives a multitude of interior design
options, which are both visual and acoustically striking. Gyptone acoustic
ceilings have wear-resistant and easy to maintain surfaces, which result in
a long lifetime and low maintenance costs. These ceilings are made out of
natural materials and do not contain environmentally dangerous
substances. Gyptone ceilings provide an outstanding sound absorption
ranging from 0.8 to 0.85 and eye-catching aesthetics. The perforations are
comprised of different hole patterns which enhance the aesthetic
character of the room décor. The Gyptone BIG acoustic ceilings allow you
to create large ceiling surfaces without visible joints.

Advantages:
Monolithic finish with excellent aesthetics
Superior acoustics
Lighting effects
Paintable surface
Ease of cleaning
HOW DOES A CEILING SYSTEM REDUCE AIR-CONDITIONING NEEDS AND
HELP LOWER ELECTRICITY BILLS?
• False ceilings provide thermal insulation by creating an air gap between
the soffit and the false ceiling.
• They reduce the air volume of a room and, as a result, the air-conditioning
load.
• Thus, the air-conditioning requirement is reduced, resulting in lower
electricity bills.

HOW DOES A CEILING SYSTEM REDUCE THE NEED FOR LIGHTING?

• Ceilings reflect and diffuse light. A ceiling that reflects and diffuses light
well reduces the need for artificial lighting. This results in improved energy
efficiency and a better working environment.
HOW IS THE ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE OF A CEILING MEASURED?
• We measure the ability of ceilings to reduce sound using something called
noise reduction coefficient (NRC). NRC indicates the absorptive capacity of
a particular material. It is simply the average of the mid-frequency sound
absorption coefficients (250,500,1000 and 2000 Hz rounded to the nearest
5%). A NRC of 0.55 means that 55% of the sound is absorbed. The balance
45% sound is reflected.

WHAT IS THE KEY PERFORMANCE CRITERIA WHILE SELECTING A GOOD

CEILING SYSTEM?
• The important criteria for selecting a good ceiling system are:
Acoustic performance: A ceiling should have good acoustics. It should
enhance required sound, while eliminating or reducing unwanted sound.
Light efficiency: A ceiling that reflects and diffuses light well reduces need
for artificial lighting. The result is improved energy efficiency and a better
working environment.
Accessibility and service management: An important function of a
suspended ceiling is concealing the plumbing, the air-conditioning system
and electrical wiring. A good ceiling system also enables ease of access to
such ducts and wires.
Other functional parameters: Apart from these parameters, fire safety,
moisture resistance, ease in cleaning, load-bearing capacity, installation
and environment friendliness are important
