What We Will Learn:

This week we will continue our work with this unit’s Essential Question - “How can
technology make a difference in our lives?” Our phonics skill for the week will be
long a (a_e). We teach that the “e” at the end of a word is a magic, silent “e” that
tells the vowel to say their name, instead of their sound. If you are reading with
your child and they struggle with these types of words, you can remind them of
what magic silent “e” does.

We will be starting our Math Module 2 this week which involves counting on or
making ten to solve word problems. In Writer’s Workshop, students will be
continuing to learn about crafting Non-Fiction Chapter books or “teaching books”
and adding a table of contents to their informational writing.

Monday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 1, p. 169 & 170.
Tuesday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 2, p. 173 & 174.
Wednesday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 3, p. 177 & 178.
Thursday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 4, p. 181 & 182.
Friday: Home Reading only 
