What We Will Learn:

This week we will begin our third unit in our Language Arts curriculum. Our unit’s
Essential Question is “Why do living things change?” Our phonics skill for the
week will be r-blends (br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr).

We will be advancing our understanding of subtraction and how it is related to

addition. We will be using math stories with drawings to solve unknowns. We
will also be doing some fun fall-themed math that ties in with the standards we
are working on. In Writer’s Workshop, students will be writing their final “small
moment” or personal narrative stories, and “fancying up” a piece to serve as
their best example of a personal narrative.
