What We Will Learn:

This week we will begin a new unit in Language Arts. Our Essential Question is -
“How can technology make a difference in our lives?” Our phonics skill for the
week will be long a (a_e). We teach that the “e” at the end of a word is a magic,
silent “e” that tells the vowel to say their name, instead of their sound. If you are
reading with your child and they struggle with these types of words, you can remind
them of what magic silent “e” does.

We will doing holiday-themed review in math this week. We will be practicing

number bonds, word problems, and our fluency with addition and subtraction.
In Writer’s Workshop, we will be writing Non-fiction chapter books.
