Classroom News

What We Will Learn:


This week we will continue our work with this unit’s Essential Question - “Why is the
past important? Our phonics skill for the week will be long i vowel teams and single
letters (ie, igh, i, y, and i_e). This combination of vowels works as a team to make
the long i sound.

We will be starting a new Module in math focused on Geometry. A new homework


book will be going home today which will be used for the upcoming homework
assignments. We will be continuing our work in Writer’s Workshop, where we will be
writing reviews of various things, such as collections, restaurants, and movies.

Homework:
We will be beginning Module 5 this week, focused on Geometry. The
homework pages can be found in the new Succeed book your child
came home with today.

Monday: Home Reading and Module 5 Lesson 1 p. 127-128


Tuesday: Home Reading and Module 5 Lesson 3 p. 135-136
Wednesday: Home Reading and Module 5 Lesson 4 p. 139-140
Thursday: Home Reading Module 5 Lesson 8 p. 157-158
Friday: Home Reading
