Do craters hole are big because of the
meteorites size or just because of the
impact force?
WHAT IS A CRATER?

A large, bowl-shaped always in the ground or on the

surface of a planet or the moon, typically one caused by an
explosion or the impact of a meteorite or other heavenly
body.

How is a crater formed
When an impact strikes the solid surface a planet,a shock
wave spreads out from the site of the impact. The shock
wave fractures the rock and excavates a large cavity
(much larger than the impact).

In this video,it shows that doesn't matter how big is the
aerolite,as long as it has impact forces, it will form the
crater. So I think the cause of the crater is the impact
force of the stony meteorites.
