STACKING: Storage of pipes at site:

1. Storage area should be flat and free of sharp objects and rocks
2. Pipes can be stored in layers to minimize storage area
3. Wooden cradles should be placed between pipe levels
4. First layer pipes should be supported with wooden wedges to prevent sliding.
5. Flat timbers should be placed at a distance of ¼ of pipe length at both ends.
6. Maximum layer height is around 2.5 meter

Loading & Un loading
• Loading / un loading of pipes Dia. Greater than 300mm
should be done with hydra, crane and forklift
• Pipes can be lifted either with one or two lifting straps
• With one lifting strap the strap should be fastened at
pipe centre of gravity
• With two lifting straps as per below image
• There should no person under pipe while lifting
