What is Cytoplasm?

CYTOPLASM VS. NUCLEOPLASM

Cytoplasm is found inside the cell Nucleoplasm is found inside the nucleus

Enclosed by the cell membrane Enclosed by the nuclear enveloped

Gelationous structure Highly gelatinous structure

Organelles and inclusions are suspended Nucleus and chromatin are suspended

A universal feature in all known cells Only contained by eukaryotic cells

Divided into two cells during cytokinesis Released during the nuclear division and
re filled after the formation of nuclear
envelope.

Contains fibrous matrix Cyclosis or streaming is absent

WHAT DOES CYTOPLASM DO?
• Most of the important activities of the cell
occur in the cytoplasm. It contains molecules
such as enzymes w/c are responsible for
breaking down waste and also aid in
metabolic activity. It is responsible for giving a
cell and keeps organelles in their place.
WHAT IS CYTOPLASM IN A CELL?
• Cytoplasm is a thick solution that fills each cell
and it is enclosed by the cell membrane.
HOW WAS CYTOPLASM DISCOVERED?
• It was discovered in 1835 and no single
scientist can be credited for discovering
cytoplasm.
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE CYTOPLASM
WAS MISSING FROM THE CELL?
• Without cytoplasm, all there is in the cell is
the nucleus
