Sportive rhythmic
gymnastics is a form of
gymnastics in which dance
like movements may be
combined with the
manipulation of hand
apparatus
No music with lyrics can be used
in competitions. While the
costume must be comfortable
enough and or shows the shape
of the entire body of the
performer.
Sportive gymnastics exhibits the
skills
like strength, flexibility, balance,
coordination and agility in their
movements. It is a sport that
combines elements of ballet,
gymnastics, dance and
apparatus manipulation.
Useful movements are steps (tip-
toes), leaps, pirouettes (pivots)
balances, apparatus-handling
(throw, catch, roll, and bounce)
among other slight walking and
running
•Rhythmic gymnastics was
introduced in 1984, in games at Los
Angeles as an individual event
•At 1986 Atlanta games as a team
event joining the Olympics.
