Indomie is a brand of instant noodle produced by an
Indonesian company; Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk,
better known as Indofood.It is distributed in Australia,
Asia, Africa, New Zealand, United States, Canada,


Europe, and Middle Eastern countries. Outside its
main manufacturing plants in Indonesia, Indomie is
also produced in Nigeria since 1995 where it is a

popular brand and has the largest instant noodle
manufacturing plant in Africa.

Naming

"Indo" stands for "Indonesia" and "mie" is the Indonesian word for "noodles",
therefore "Indomie" stands for "noodles from Indonesia" or "Indonesian
noodle". Both Indomie and IndoMie can be used to describe the brand.
• Description

Indomie is a form of instant noodle spiced with the Indonesian palate. The most
popular flavour is Indomie Mi goreng, followed by Indomie Soto Mie (Noodle Soto
flavour), Indomie Ayam Bawang (onion chicken), Indomie Kari Ayam (chicken curry),
Indomie Kaldu Ayam (chicken stock) and Indomie Ayam Spesial (special chicken). The
Indomie website states that many of their noodles, including meat flavours are
vegetarian.

Indomie is made from flour supplied by Bogasari flour mills, and


fortified with vitamin A, B1, B6, B12, niacin, folic acid and iron.[6]
Indomie is certified as halal by Majelis Ulama Indonesia, certified ISO
9001:2001 and HACCP from SGS.[6]

Dufil Prima Foods. It is the first instant noodles manufacturi
ng plant in Nigeria and the largest in Africa. Indomie Instant
Noodles has grown to become a household name across th
e country. Indomie is produced in Nigeria since 1995 where
it is a popular brand and has the largest instant noodle man
ufacturing plant in Africa. Since 2003, Dufil’s fortunes shifte
d and its revenues have increased at an average rate of al
most 30 per cent a year. One reason is the heavy marketin
g focus. The company’s advertisements appear on buses a
nd buildings around the country. Mothers with young childre
n are a particular target market. One of Dufil’s popular catc

Indomie was first introduced in Australia in the 1990s. It beg

In New Zealand, Indomie was first introduced about 20 year
s ago. Initially, it was popular with the Indonesian students
who were missing their Indomie from back home. However,
today Indomie has become a popular snack for many New
Zealanders. In fact, Indomie has become so popular that it i
s now the no.1 selling instant noodles brand in New Zealan
d.
Indomie in Saudi Arabia
In 1986, Indomie instant noodles were first introduced into t
he Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, merging Asia and Saudi Arabi
a into one world, one of quintessential and absolutely rivetin
g-in-taste noodles. Indomie’s premium wheat noodles are n
ow part of every Saudi home. Indomie’s factory produces u
p to 2 million packs a day in Jeddah alone, where it opened
in 1994. It was then that a Saudi company first shook hands
with the world’s largest noodle manufacturer and setup a st
ate-of-the-art plant known as “Pinehill Arabia Food Limited”
thus making Saudi Arabia a self-sufficient producer of Indo
mie instant noodles. It didn’t take long for Saudis to acquire
a taste for Indomie’s flavored noodles and PAFL steadily dis
tributed Indomie across the Kingdom, soon thereafter expor
ting it to all Arabic countries and soon enough on a global s
cale.

Indo Serbia Food started operations in August 2010. The m
ain activity is import, distribution and sale of dehydrated Ind
omie Nudli. Indomie is available in all retail facilities in Serbi

In 1997, a partnership was established between local entre
preneur named Maher Abu Alata and Wazaran Group, to se
t up a company specialized in Export, Import, Distribution a
nd Marketing and the company named “Transworld”. The ai
m for setting up this company is to import and distribute Ind
omie in Egypt. In 2006, a company specialized in productio
n was established and named “ Salim Wazaran Abu Alata, L
td.”SAWATA. SAWATA is a limited liability company(LLC) th
at was established together by Salim Wazaran Ltd. (SAWA
Z) in Saudi Arabia and Abu Alata Co. in Egypt.On the 1st of
October 2009, Instant Noodle factory located in an industria

In Turkey, Indomie was first introduced in 2010 under the na
me of Adkoturk Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ. Adkoturk,
has been operating in Turkey with 100% foreign capital by t
he participation of international investors. Adkoturk Gıda Sa
nayi ve Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ. is one of Turkey's most prestigiou
s corporation and a pillar of the Turkish economy in Noodle
producing.
