application in mobile phones for

road safety

Guided by:

Objective:

• Enabling of driver-mode application in mobile

phones for road safety.
Existing method:

• Designing a prototype a solution, which can provide

the security to the person, when he is in driving Road
safety is the major concern, while driving. Due to
lack of attention & high speed leads to accidents.
There is no protection mechanism except the police
surveillances. Due to this, every year there were so
many injuries & lives are spoiling.
Proposed method:

• The application would send the SMS, about driver

status to the other person.
• Geo coordinates (longitude &latitude) changes, when
the driver speed is beyond 20km/h.
Case 1:
• The person, who is using the vehicle, must use the
“drivers mode” before he starts the journey. Therefore
mobile phone is not allowed to receive any calls.
Case 2:
• When incoming calls are very important, the voice
message will send to the driver, so that he can attempt
the call after stops the vehicle ,therefore, mobile
mode will transiting to the signal mode.
Case 3:
• Accidents can be prevented in more secured way.
• Connecting the lock &ignition unit to the micro controller
along with Bluetooth or GSM module at the transmitter end.
• At the receiver, mobile is enabled with driver mode.
• When a driver wants to drive vehicle, the mobile will goes
to the driver mode, so he is unable to get calls.
• But if any emergency situations, he will gets SMS.
Therefore he can alert by disabling the driver mode when he
is beyond 20km/hr.This project can be extend , In the
context of MAKE-IN-INDIA initiative, Govt of india
should make a policy to the vehicle manufactures, to
implement the hardware to control the ignition & driver
enable mode. Finally can be linked with the aadhar.
