INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION

When communication occur outside his body between two or


more person.

It is one of the basic means of communication. The


Interpersonal communication skills can be improved by
Practice, knowledge & feedback.

The essential factor is there should be a message & it should


be send by the sender & it should be received by the receiver.

Type of Interpersonal communication

Dynamic communication- means between two. For example: A


conversation between two friend. An exchange of letter or emails.

Small Group Communication- interactions among three or more people


who are connected through a common goal.

Public Communication- When individual & groups engage in dialogue in


public sphere in order to deliver a message to specific audience.
e.g. formal lecture

Mass Communication- traditionally one-way form of communication to a


mass audience e.g. newspaper but now there is social media.
Interpersonal Barriers: Remedies of interpersonal:

 Limited vocabulary  Be Positive

 Cultural variation  Dictionary & Thesaurus

 Poor listening skills  A wide Choice

 Noise in channel  Sentence construction


INTRAPERSONAL COMMUNICATION

The term ‘intra’ means with in so the communication take place with
in a person

Idea that flow within the mind are influenced by the person’s
emotions, experience, knowledge, views & values.
Types of Intrapersonal communication

Internal discourse: involves thinking, concentration & analysis. Include


daydreaming & nocturnal dreaming in this category. Example Prayer &
meditation.

Solo vocal communication: speaking loud to oneself. This may be done


to clarify thinking, to rehearse a message intended for other. Example:
Talking to yourself as you complain about your boss.

Solo written communication: deal with writing not intended for others.
Example: An entry in a diary.
Intrapersonal Barriers
Remedies of Intrapersonal:
 Wrong assumption
 Listen clearly
 Varied perception
 Stick to the subject
 Difference background
 Not assume anything
 Wrong inference
