Linguistic Intelligence &

Logical-Mathematical
Intelligence
I. What is Verbal-Linguistic
Intelligence?

 is a part of Howard Gardner’s

multiple intelligence theory
that deals with an individual’s
ability to understand both
spoken and written language,
as well as their ability to speak
and write themselves. It is the
extent to which an individual
can use language, both
written and verbal, to achieve
goals, problem solve and
increase abstract reasoning.
Who is a verbal-linguistic learner?

 The Verbal (Linguistic) Learning Style. The

verbal style involves both the written and
spoken word. If you use this style, you find it
easy to express yourself, both in writing and
verbally. You love reading and writing.
 People who are linguistically intelligent might
enjoy storytelling, debating, conversing,
presenting, reading aloud, dramatizing,
researching topics through books, listening, or
writing journal entries.
What famous person has
linguistic intelligence?
 Maya Angelou, William
Shakespeare, and Oprah
Winfrey are famous
people who have high
linguistic intelligence. In
other words, they have a
deep understanding and
appreciation of the rules
and functions of
language. People with
linguistic intelligence are
skilled writers and
speakers.
II. What is Logical-
Mathematical Intelligence?

 Logical mathematical intelligence is related to

reasoning, calculations, logic, critical thinking, and
abstract thinking, all of which are related to the
complexity of mathematics. People with highly
developed logical mathematically intelligence are
able to understand systems and patterns, can rely on
abstract thinking to solve problems, and can make
logical and practical decisions more easily than most
people.
Who is a logical-mathematical learners?

 Logical-mathematical
learning style refers to your
ability to reason, solve
problems, and learn using
numbers, abstract visual
information, and analysis of
cause and effect
relationships. Logical-
mathematical learners
are typically methodical
and think in logical or linear
order.
 They enjoy school activities such as math, computer science,
technology, drafting, design, chemistry, and other "hard
sciences." Logical-mathematical learners prefer logical order
in instruction and often work best in structured, organized
environments. They have strong visual analysis, memory, and
problem-solving skills.
Who’s famous person has logical
mathematical intelligence?

 Blaise Pascal, Bill

Gates, and Sir Isaac
Newton are famous
people who have
high logical/
mathematical
intelligence. In other
words, they are skilled
at deductive
reasoning, detecting
patterns, and logical
thinking.
 While we all possess a certain type of
intelligence, there is no reason why we should
not train our minds to think differently. Logical-
mathematical intelligence can be developed
and strengthened by practicing appropriate
exercises.
