MULTI-PURPOSE ROBOT (MR.

ACLC)
(ACLC COLLEGE SHS)
INTRODUCTION
• This research and initial work performed on a sensing and control system for a
Multipurpose Robot.
• Research into existing technologies is outlined, with appropriate references.
• The testing performed to validate the technologies used is described.
• The overall design, at the time of writing, is described, along with the functional
description of each module.
• The robots which are being developed these days can sense their surroundings and
behave according to what they sense and make judgments on their own to how to
respond.
• Far are not the days when robots would even sense and respond to feelings and
could even express how they feel.
FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS

• This is advantageous in areas where there is high risk for humans to enter.
• Compass sensor
• Robotic vehicle with a camera
• Capture images and send it via email through wireless connectivity with an internet
connection.
• Can also sense air pressure, temperature, and gas presence.
• live video streaming
• The whole system is controlled via Smartphone with android OS.
MARKET TRENDS AND OPPORTUNITIES

• To help the community in the search and rescue operation in terms of

emergency, calamity, disaster and fire incident especially when the area is too
risky for the human to enter.
• Lives video streaming within wireless local area network is a great help to
view the real-time scenario of the current situation within the area.
• This robot has the capability to transmit captured images with logs to the
email server.
MATERIALS
• HMC5883L magnetometer – This compact sensor uses I2C to communicate and it's very easy to use.
• BMP180 Barometric Pressure Sensor – it measures the absolute pressure of the air around them
• MQ32 Smoke Gas Sensor Module – is used for detecting gas concentration.
• DC motor 3V-6V gear 1:48 Magnetic
• Serial SSD1306 Module - 0.96 inch OLED Display
• HC-05 Bluetooth – is a Module for wireless communication
• ATmega328 (Arduino nano) – a compact microcontroller board based on the ATmega328 form factor.
• NeoPixel Ring - 24 x WS2812 5050 RGB LED from Adafruit, a small chainable 2.6" (66mm)
outer diameter board equipped with 5050 WS2812 RGB LEDs.

THE ASSEMBLY
The concept of this multi-purpose robot (M.R. ACLC ) prototype is to create a versatile
but small for the factor of a robot that reads environmental sensor readings like GAS, SMOKE,
Temperature, Barometric pressure, and Compass for navigation tracking of this mobile robot.
This mobot is controlled and sends data readings using a wireless device (HC05).
Within the robot are attached and equipped with the following sensors:
• MQ32 for Smoke and gas detection
• HMC5883L magnetometer for navigation status
• BMP180 Barometric Pressure Sensor
The brain for the CPU process is the ATMEGA 328 microcontroller, which is then
responsible for getting data reading and process to send over wireless communication and
displays to the android device to logged within the database for record-keeping. Adding the
LEDs helps the MR ACLC mobot to be easily detected even in dark environment.
