Procedure,
According to Anderson and Anderson
(1997: 50) means “ a piece of text that gives us
instructions for doing something”.
Its social function is to describe how
something is completely done through a sequence of
series such as directions, recipes, instruction manual,
and itineraries.
The text usually includes one or more
photographs, illustrations, or diagrams to help
readers visualize, or see, how to do the steps.

It is containt the purpose of the

A list of materials that will be needed to
complete procedure.
Steps
A sequence of steps in the order they need to be
done.
Language Feature
of
Procedure Text

- Using Simple Present Tense

– Use adverbial of sequence / Using temporal conjunction (ex: first,


then, second, third, the last, next, after this, finally)

– Use command / imperative sentence (ex: put the noodles on the . . .,


cut the onion. . ., wash the tomatoes. . . )

– Using adverbials to express detail the time, place, manner accurate


(ex: for five minutes, for 2 hours, etc.)
